well its not about time... i was doing crunches situps for 3 months and saw no sign... you have to make sure your also eating right etc... but anways it depends... remember running also helps to get rid of any fat that may be covering the muscle underneath... even skinnyish people like yourself have small amounts of fat covering the muscle... some people gain muscle easier than others... as for a core do planks.. planks are what made me strong in my core for pole dancing...

You are better off doing squats, deadlifts or planks for a stronger core. These exercises are less boring than crunches. As a matter of fact, deadlift is a compound exercise that will exercise different muscle groups.
When doing an workout routine for results, you should expect to see some change within a month.
Crunches are meant to build muscle, cardio is meant to lose fat.
Crunches will actually make your stomach protrude more. Your main focus should be to get rid of the fat that's covering the abs you already have and most of the work is done in the kitchen. Cut calories and add cardio.

Squats will work your back and legs more then your abdomen. All ab exercises will do is work your abdomen to get a flatter stomach you need to do cardio to burn fat. Who friend is wrong cardio burns fat crunches, sit-ups etc only build muscle. Not the other way around.
Well I would do it at least 20-40mins a day every day for 6 months and take a jog 1-3 times a week. but you can stop sooner or go longer until you feel you have met your goal. But after words do it for 20 mins a day about 3 times a week to keep up the look.
if you want to get a flatter stomach, you can't just do crunches. Its mainly about losing fat and, sadly, the best way to do that is cardio.
abs are made in the kitchen!
