If your partner had a terminal illness, would you support them ending their own life?

At first, my opinion was a sort of selfish one; of course not, they should spend as much time he/she has with you and family and doing anything they could think of. But then, it's like, (I've never had real experience with it so I'm just taking an educated guess) my partner is probably in so much pain and misery so why am I making them prolong the inevitable? Yeah sure, you'll be making memories but memories that are tainted with sadness and sickness. However, there is no being OK with the person you love ending their life, but I know that I would not want to be remembered as some frail and sick shell of the person I was. So while I wouldn't help (legal or not) I wouldn't stop it if I honestly thought that it simply might be for the best, y'know?

I saw that story and the video, it's incredibly heartbreaking. If I were in that situation, I'm sure it would be extremely difficult. I likely would not want to accept it at first. However, if it's what my partner wanted and I knew that they would be put out of their suffering and misery, then yes, I would support them. It would be selfish of me to not support that decision. I wouldn't want them to suffer, be in pain, and watch them deteriorate.

Yes I would. As I mentioned in the other similar question to this one - I watched my father-in-law waste away from cancer. Nothing is more horrific than sitting in someone's house for a week just waiting for them to die.

If she's 100% decided to end her life, I'll support her. Yes, it'll be devastating, but I don't want her to suffer, and if it's what she wanted, then so be it.

Yes It would be tough to do. I recently watched my father suffer an agonizing death from cancer. Emotionally it was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life

what am I suppose to do, not show my support and make their life a living hell for their last few months? You don't have a choice if you love them
