Yes, you actually can help it by controlling yourself. You're just making up excuses by saying "I can't help it", which, quite frankly, is not going to help you stop. So the first thing you need to do is change your attitude. Instead of saying "I can't help it" say, "I CAN help it" and simply don't reach for the chocolate when you feel like it. Eat a banana, or drink some water instead.
