I used to just do it when I got to it. Cardio a couple times a week, strength once or twice a week.
How much do I really need to. Why do I?
I don't stress out over it, but I do feel compelled to get it done. I've had to miss days when I was sick, and it always feels a bit off. I think my body's just gotten used to it, and also it messes with my routine, so yeah.
Maybe it'd help if you have a planned schedule you stick to, so you're not stressing about trying to squeeze a workout in here or there or finding time to fix the right meals. I used to just go whenever/cook when I can, but then I got a lot busier, and found myself not being consistent about working out and eating healthy. Some better organization and time management worked for me. I set aside certain times for those things now, and it keeps me on top of it.
It's up to you how much you want to work out, based on your goals, and other commitments you have. I work out four days a week, for an hour and a half each day.
I have to work out almost everyday to keep my sanity! The gym is me relief from life :-)
I don't stress out about it. I just value and keep the promises I make to myself.
Here's the problem you are having--you are focusing on the end results in your head, rather than concentrating on and enjoying the process. Release the emotional need for a particular outcome, become independent and free from expectation. Have faith in the process you've established for yourself, and that stress will go away.
Thank you for this, you're right!
nah im pretty used to my routine. I go 5-6 days a week. does it stress you out because you think you will get fat if you miss a workout? because that is totally not the case.
Not quite, as I used work out more and eat less. Nothing happened when I started eating more and working out less except felt better! But I worry if I don't work out enough then it's pointless. And if I don't at all then I will be a blob that is depressed. I just feel better knowing I've worked out, not only body but in mind like stress and anxiety or depression wise. It's good for those things too. I just feel Id fail in some way to not keep up with it.
ahh, well it seems like you've just grown a slight dependency to it. nothing bad with that, i depend on the gym to upkeep my mental/physical health.
