Have you ever felt like you just don't fit in?

I am a Senior in High School and I really do love my school to bits but I just don't feel like I fit in with all the other kids. I have very different interests than most of the students. Such as I don't find getting drunk, not remembering what happened the next day, smoking, taking drugs, partying until 3 am, and hooking up with guys any fun at all. In fact I find it rather childish and just plain stupid. I have and never will be able to be popular because I can't fake like I like a person. I don't know if there is something wrong with me, or if people can just sense that I don't want anything to do with that crowd but I honestly can't wait to finish school.

Anyone else feel the same? Or have an opinion on my statement?

There's nothing wrong with that at all. You're just more mature than they are. Who cares if you have different interests and feel like you don't fit in? We're all different, it's what makes us unique as people. But like you, I did feel the same way. I didn't hang with the 'In Crowd' because they seemed to be nothing more than a bunch of trouble makers. I just went my own way. Just keep doing what you're doing:)

Of course I think we all feel that way one way or another. Even people who have found a group to hang out in sometimes do. But I think like any other feeling it's natural to want to be loved or have a lot of friends. Plus all you can do is be yourself. NEVER let anyone change who you are. Those popular kids that do that stuff will most likely grow up to be losers anyways...

Nothing else wrong with any of that! Usually you find more people you can connect with in college where there's a lot more out there (various classes, activities, and if you go to a bit school, just more people)... and you'll be able to find your niche.

You sound perfectly normal. It also sounds like you're the smarter one out of your peers. Chalk it up as early life lesson. Many people suck around you so try to find more like minded people.
