I think there's something wrong with my knee, and a doc isn't available at this time, any advice or whatever?

It all started a couple of months ago at volleyball practice, I dove off sideways, got a good hit, and when I tried to get up, my knee popped BIG TIME, like three or four times in quick succession. Since then it's been hard to sit down "criss cross applesauce" because me knee pops really painfully whenever I twist it, but i can still run and jump.
I thought it was fine, I even went skiing this Christmas, long story short, I wiped out more than a few times, and my knee had to pop painfully back almost every time before I could straighten my leg and get up.
Now it hurts to bend it barely past 90 degrees, but again I can still run and put plenty of weight on it, so nobody really thinks much of it.
I've got basketball practice coming up tomorrow, and it's almost certain there'll be squats involved, and I don't know how to tell people that my knee hurts to do squats but then I'm fine to be running up and down the court.
Also, what the hell's wrong with my knee? I asked this a while back and people were like, "You strained it, you'll be fine in a week or two." well it didn't get much better and then I went and skiied on it *facepalm*
So now what?

I think I oversold how much pain I'm in, put it this way, it didn't keep me from skiing down the mountain over and over again.
