I would never do that. It should by all rights be consider a human rights violation. I will hate my parents until the day I die for them cutting off my foreskin. It has caused me all sorts of problems my whole life. The fastest way to lose my respect is to tell me you would ever consider mutilating your child's genitals.
The men claiming to be thankful are just victims that can't handle the fact they are forever stuck with a mutilated penis, and therefore have to convince themselves that they are better off than they would have been. Women that are circumcised by having their clitoris cut off will often say the same thing. Many of the women that have been mutilated openly promote female circumcision just like these men are doing. This is how the cycle of abuse repeats itself. People that are intact rarely will endorse such cruel and barbaric acts.
It's funny because there isn't any actual good reason for it, other than cultural misconceptions.

That's true there is a legit medical condition where circumcision is beneficial paraphimosis – a condition where the foreskin gets trapped under the tip of the penis and balanitis xerotica obliterans – an uncommon condition causing hardening and inflammation of the tip of the penis, but other than those reasons it should be considered torture to force a baby to go through unnecessary procedures and apparently they don't even give them pain medication.
an UNCOMMON condition.
you said it yourself :P
Kinda like if I did laser removal on my head to make sure I don't get lice.
Except having no hair doesn't cause any actual dysfunctionality in any activity.
I agree with you.
Not to mention it looks better intact and then there's the whole argument of then if its healthy why don't we get rid of girls hoods and of course people would say it's necessary to protect the clit, not even sure if the hood lubricates the clit like the foreskin does for the penis. Also better sex if they guy is intact for both the girl and the guy, because the foreskin plays an important role in sex, it would be similar to a girls having sex without her glands that produce lubrication.
As a feminist I think it's wrong to dictate how anyone's body should be no matter what gender they are. That being said if he wanted to do that down the road I'd support him knowing that I at least gave him the CHOICE about what to do with his own body. But I think there is already enough pressure on men where their genitals are concerned it's ridiculous! Society tells us labia have to look a certain way and uncircumcised penises are ugly it's really shitty. Love yourself they way you are!
absolutely not. I prefer being all natural and will leave my son that way too.
if, as an adult, he wants to have it done, so be it, but I will not make the decision for him/his penis.

I'm circumcise myself, but as for my child I'll leave him intact. Not that I have anything against the procedure, but I would rather my son be allowed to make that decision when he's an adult. I see no point in cutting off a healthy part of his penis for no reason.
It may have been considered healthier during times where medicine and treatment and hygienic supplies weren't as widely available as they are today, but in first world countries today there is no reason for circumcision, just teach your kids how to properly clean the area, and they'll be good. I would assume circumcision is still viable in third world countries where hygiene items and medical stuff isn't as widely available.
My sister's baby nearly bled to death because of it. They nicked an artery in the process and they didn't find out until a couple hours later when they changed his diaper. I warned her not to have it done, but her husband, who ironically is uncircumsized, demanded his son get cut.
That's scary! Is he doing well now?
Absolutely not. If I have a son, no one's coming near his penis with a knife to amputate part of it. When he grows up he can give consent to the procedure if he wants it done.
amputate? lol
what's that thing called that native americans did to each other in battle? that would be a better description. ;)
... SCALP!
I'm actually thinking about the morality of that.
I read a few interesting articles on it stating the pros and cons.
I can't see the true reason to, I mean, it is his penis.
But I don't want him to become insecure over it later in life or decide to do it later in life and have to experience the pain. But that goes back to the argument of 'why put the baby through unnecessary pain'
Some men do feel embarrassment about not being circumcised. I've heard this before and on here. But really it's about location because for some men this isn't an issue because a large percentage of the male population isn't circumcised. Why do you say not to mention it? That's a factor along with the pain and the actual need or lack of.
Some men feel mutilated for having been circumcised without their consent, having had a part of them taken.
@Mesonfielde I know, I've read quotes from people who feel this way. I've just started researching circumcision though, because I'm not pregnant nor am I planning on it for a while. However, I do lean towards not doing it because 1) I would never mutilate my daughters genitals so why am I doing this for my son and 2) why am I causing him pain and doing this? what is the reason?
However, the majority of men in my community are circumcised and there was a man on GaG not too long ago who had fears about his penis and female perception of it. I don't want any potential sons feelings embarrassment over their penis... I get the tone of the last opinion, and I'm not the type to inflict harm on someone else just because, I'm simply seeing both sides of the story.
Honestly, you have reasons to feel bad about it if you are circumcised and even if you are not. The proper way to tackle the problem is by getting proper self-esteem, not mutilating yourself in hope that girls will magically detect your lack of foreskin and swoon all over your face. It is unreasonable.
I think the guys who were upset were upset because the women in their community were unaccustomed to having sex with a man who was not circumcised. And they were possibly turned down, had bad reactions, or had the fear of those two things.
That being said, that's the way men are born and altering him because of tradition seems useless and selfish.
I'm going to be the devils advocate here, a lot of baby foreskin goes to creating skin graphs for burn victims. And the majority of men don't care about the lost foreskin as a result.
I've never had a son.. But I, along with every male in my family was circumcised and frankly I'm glad that I was. Fully-sheethed-cocks look F'N weird as hell, and stench and bacteria supposedly builds up underneath that layer of skin. I'll stick to being bald..
-Soberpiper-
1.) it looks "weird" only because that's not the one you have, but that's the natural form of the penis
2.) I can clearly vouch for that if you shower once a day, it won't smell, and I also never had an infection before
3.) people in Europe don't circumcise their kids at all and they haven't gone extinct yet
That's why there's chocolate and vanilla friend.
what
It means you do things your way and I'll do things my way. Hence preference.
Circumcision is healthier. Leaving it to them simply means not having it done as it will be expensive and painful when they grow up.
I am so glad I had it done. I would be pissed if my parents didn't do the right thing when it would be easy and done and overwith.
It's probably just being bounced around because once someone asks a question it's subconsciously on your mind and it inspires you with a question.
God made boys with foreskin so there must be a good reason to have it. So my son will not be getting circumsized as a baby. If he chooses to when he's an adult, fine.
No. It's pretty much only done for religious reasons, and since I'm not religious I see no need whatsoever to mutilate a baby's pens.
Penis*
Not in a million years. I'm not gonna make my future son lose sexual pleasure for no reason. Foreskin has been proven to be better than not having one.
I'd circumcise him for health reasons you know easier to keep him clean down there.
Why doesn't anyone make that argument about girls' labia?
@Mesonfield
We go through this every time it's not going to make a dffference. Also because we're not built to get anything clipped. You aren't either but your genitals will still function.
Also. considering the fact that a vagina is open unlike the foreskin so I would appreciate if you would just respect my decision instead of pointing out invalid examples.
@Mesonfielde the equivalent of the foreskin on girls is the hood though not the labia, the labia is equivalent to the skin holding the balls.
""Also because we're not built to get anything clipped.""
Males aren't either, yet you're advocating mutilation.
@Mesonfielde
I clarified that guys aren't either already... So your point?
That you still support mutilation?
Yeah, but like I said. I'm not going to change my opinion. I get you're trying to convince me and change my mind but you're not saying or telling me anything I don't already know, admitted, or things you've said previously.
@Mesonfielde
I would never circumcise my son. I think it is immoral.
nah circumcising yer kids is stupid basically... leave the choice 2 them!
I don't want kids. But if i had a son, I'd get him curcumcised. He will thank me later. I know that i was thankful for being circumcised.
Why are you thankfully you were circumcised.
Because it is more socially accepted. Girls apparently prefer them. They are easier to clean, and therefore smell better (according to women). I think they look better. And i just don't like the idea of a bunch of skin moving around.
Would you have your daughters hood removed because the same can be said about the hood.
Um... I don't know
I guess I'd leave that one up to the mother
So getting the boys foreskin removed is your choice and getting the girls hood removed is her choice?
Well no. I wouldn't make the decision on my own. I just meant that if it was completely up to me, I'd choose to have him curcumcised.
Oh ok
Noooo.
What if I cut it off?
"My daddy cut my peepee off on accident when I was born."
NO.
I wasn't saying I would, I wanted to see what people would do.
Why are you surprised?
lol no they mean they'll have it down by a doctor, surgeon more specifically.
lol no I don't think anyone's that barbaric.
No I wouldn't, I'd let him decide when he's old enough weather he want's to be circumcised or not.
NO. I don't mind circumcision being legal. It has benefits. But I would allow my son to choose for himself.
I don't believe in abusing children and mutilating the flesh of infants with sharp objects.
i would rather talk it over with his dad... get his views on the whole thing.
Just don't do it Hari! Don't! OH SWEET JEEZUS
EVERY DAY I PRAY FOR MY FORESKIN TO RETURN, AND EVERY DAY I'M MET WITH SORROW
Really, Hari. I ain't gonna bitch about not having my full jibbly, because the truck still runs, but I would have preferred to have it.
If he wonders, then you sit him down and show him a picture of a penis from an anatomy book and say "That's how nature made you! You're fine! Also, don't make fun of the other kids because they might be different than you. Everyone's different. Let's keep this to ourselves."
Could I be a dad? I COULD BE A DAD!
Meson is a whole 'nother story. He's like super amped up and crazy about it to the point of delirium. All I'm saying is that I would have preferred to have made the decision to get a portion of my dick chopped off when I was old enough to contemplate what it meant. It should still be legal, because it has legitimate benefits in some cases.
BUT NOW, I WANDER THROUGH THE EARTH WITHOUT A HOOD ON MY LITTLE MAN. HE'S SO COLD, HARI! SO COLD!
It's a Hemingway-esque tragedy!
@jackkerouac77 I agree. That's why it's so much nicer to give a guy a choice. If it's left up to choice later on in life, I bet that would shift circumcised guys to a minority which I bet would make a lot of guys not want it done. I think a lot of guys like having it done because they think it'll be more desirable to women.
It's always a hard decision. It's hard because I dot see why you'd hard your babies body unless you have to. But I also understand the self consciousness that can come from being uncircumcised. So I'm still thinking about it
Self-consciousness? I'm proud of being uncut, I'm having more pleasure from sex than those without skin, so they're the ones losing here.
I know, but because they are misinformed about the subject, or because they watch porn and believe what they see in porn is what's going on in real life.
Teach your kid the benefits of having a foreskin and I'm pretty sure he'll be glad of not being circumcised. There are less and less men getting circumcised in the US, and well, in Europe barely no one gets circumcised.
I'm proud of that my parents never chose to mutilate my penis when I was an infant.
Some kids still die from infections from circumcision.
This is hilarious:
Asker, would you circumcise your daughter?
@Mesonfielde
Nope, I would circumcise my son either, but I was wondering what other people would do.
wouldn't*
i love how guys say no but girls say yes cause to girls the circumcised penis is wayyyy more attractive
I like uncut/uncircumcised penises more. But I used to think like you did (and if you're wondering , I didn't down-vote you).
Go to Europe and you'll get a different opinion from women.
It only seems "more attractive" because you grew up thinking that's normal.
If people chopped off your nipples at the age of 3 days, you'd think that's normal.
Would that be normal?
Nope!
Here in Europe we prefer our men natural
I'm a christian, but that covenant with God was replaced by our covenant with Jesus.
So that's a no.
It looks better circumsized and some women will even say that. This is more in America than anywhere else I think. They love the nice defined shroom shape. I know some people are passionate about circumcision, but it's really 50/50 either way. I'm glad I'm circumsized.
No, I'd never take away a part of someone's body without their consent
Also, I wouldn't want to anyway since I want my child to keep himself natural and beautiful
I'm not sure. I don't even know what the benefits are other than i've heard for sanitary reasons, which I kinda understand. But circumcised or not, one should thoroughly wash their genitals either way.
No! I can't make the choice on his behalf to mutilate his genitals!!!
LOL @ the voting going on. A Tom Cruise film, Directed by Steven Spielberg, Produced by George Lucas "WAR OF THE FORESKINS"
*idiots.
I would leave that choice up to him. If he said yes, I'll support him and if he said no, then that's fine as well.
That's something that I'd discuss with my partner. I really want to make sure that we are okay with this. I most likely won't but we have to be on the same page.
Yes, for hygiene purpose. I want him to be clean down there.
Nope. But I would have his appendix removed. You know, for health reasons and all
is the appendix a vestigial organ?
Oh ok, I guess that's ok then but I would imagine it to be a major operation.
tbh i don't know if i'll circumcise my son or not (will decide on this together with his dad).. kinda confused on this...
No, it's unnecessary.
not quite sure after seeing the pros and cons of doing it or not.
I'd probably let my husband be decision maker on this one
In my country everyone is circumcised so yeah ... Lol
no what would you want to?
Some parents do it for easy access of cleaning and some guys don't really clean around the heads of their penises... lol.
I wouldn't, unless of course he had a medical condition where we had to do that.
Please note that retracting the foreskin literally takes like 0.5 seconds
lol so like guys wouldn't be born with that skin they take off during circumcision if it wasn't suppose to be there so why the fuck would you take it off? i dont see any advantage for it
I had the opportunity to make that decision myself at 15 so he should too
Absolutely.. all this loss of sensation nonsense is bullshit
If I lost most of my sensation than those who were uncircumcised would jizz their pants just from walking
If I had no sensitivity I wouldn't be multi-orgasmic
I've never heard anyone say it takes away all sensitivity. If you're not circumcised though, having the head coming into contact with underwear or jeans would be really uncomfortable. Once a callus develops where the skin would be covering that sensation is dulled and not uncomfortable which sounds like sensitivity loss.
Not at all
I'll let him make that decision when he's an adult
let him have his choice, if it becomes too tight like mine was then i would circumcise
As an uncircumcised man myself, no, I would not.
Only if he wanted to himself.
My son isn't circumcised.
Absolutely not.
Never. And I'm appalled by those who would.
I'm sure it seems to some people like a big deal of "morality". *rolls eyes* HONESTLY GUYS HOW OFTEN DOES YOUR OWN CIRCUMCISION CROSS YOUR MIND...
Who cares... It won't grow nasty bacteria if you circumcise it
People just love to get worked up over stupid pointless shit apparently
Like bacteria? That's not harmful?
www.cbsnews.com/.../
"The paper also finds that over their lifetime, half of all uncircumcised males will contract a medical condition related to their foreskin."
God damn facts! Hate em don't you?
Are you against vaccines too?
Vaccines doesn't chop part of your body off. Why aren't they claiming the same thing for girls then? Because a vagina has far more bacteria than a penis does and I could benefit from snipping a literal vestigial organ (clitoris) off my body but apparent getting rid of a vestigial organ is looked at as mutilation but getting rid of something actually serves a purpose is considered necessary? If circumcision is so great then it should be vital for girls as well.
Who gives a shit. What a stupid thing to argue about. All you people on this page deny science apparently. 50 percent will have a disease if they don't do it. Not hard to understand.
Well I'm a Christian. I won't be obeying god if I don't circumsize my future kids.
I thought Christians have to follow the New Testament, and not the Old one.
No, I wouldn't
Never, it's barbaric and violent.
Hmm I don't think so.
I would for religious reasons.
Yeah why not it's healthy
Never, poor kid
I don't know. I don't plan on having children
No, I wouldn't
Religious purposes
Yea. We did
