Has anyone tried intermittent fasting?

I just started Saturday and its going pretty well, but I haven't been to the gym since then because I have a big exam approacing and I am always studying. When I take a break, I'm too tired to do anything and I'm lazy to go to the gym. WIll I still lose weight if I continue to intermitten fast with a 16 hour time frame, and 8 hours of eating. I only have about 3 meals in those 8 hours, along with light snacks: one green smoothie, some snacks, and flatbread with lots of veggies. WIll I still see results without exercise? I really want to go to the gym, but right now studying is really important for me.
Has anyone tried intermittent fasting?
