What's your opinion on plus size models?

I personally find this disgusting. I don't care if you think she's beautiful or inspiring, she is extremely overweight, it's unhealthy. This is telling people it's ok to be unhealthy. This is what's wrong with our society!

I don't really have an opinion on this girl in particular. I think the reason she got popular is because the fact that she's not shy about wearing "skinny girl" clothes being that size. Most overweight and obese people have major self confidence issues and wouldn't be caught dead in some of the outfits she wears. The whole point here in making her a model is to show over weight people to not be shy about their size and that if she is able to achieve a modeling career that anyone should be able to achieve whatever they want despite their outter appearance. I don't think health is a very high importance obviously because if it was she wouldn't look the way she does. She just represents a specific group of people who rarely get any recognition in the fasion world.

She is extremely unhealthy, that's all the reason I need to not like her. She is making people feel that it is ok to be fat

You can hate on fat people all you want. But that won't change the fact that she is who she is and if she's proud to be fat then let the girl be. I'm not supporting being fat, in fact that girl will most likely die by the age of 55 or maybe even before that if she's constantly eating artery clogging foods and not trying to improve her health. That should make you happy actually because the less fat people in the world the better... For you at least. but hating her because she's fat is like saying all gay people are swine because they are gay. That's just the way they are man.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's disgusting, but I can certainly see why it's not everyone's idea of perfection. But the hing is that in today's society, there's such a large number if people that are severely overweight that it's almost as if it's become a whole new demographic, and with this comes a whole new world of marketing targeting that demographic. So I think that while it may strike people as odd or even wrong in certain cases, I don't think it's telling people that it's good to be overweight so much as trying to sympathize with those that already are.

Oh my gosh I love Tess Holliday. She's SO pretty. He bone structure is just GORGEOUS. Like dang. I wish I was that pretty. I'm so happy that she's at a place where she can love and respect her body. I think people need to just learn to admit when a field with intentionally stringent standards isn't for them. Be confident in who you are, but be a realist.

I don't walk around demanding I can be a model despite my lack of height, because I know that the height/weight/beauty requirements are there for a reason.

It pisses me off when people decide that they're so fucking special that the rules don't apply to them. Plus sized models for plus size clothing is fine, that makes sense, but beyond that, we have standards for a reason.

First, up until recently, a size 10 was considered "plus sized." I think that is a ridiculous standard. I have known women that size that were in great shape and looked fantastic in their clothes---or not.

While I will agree that this woman is obese I certainly DO NOT have ill will toward her. I wish her happiness and success.

You don't have to starve yourself. It's called exercise and dieting. There are plenty of models who get enough to eat and look skinny. People act like the only way to be skinny or in shape is to starve yourself and spend every second in the gym. It's idiotic, all it takes is a little determination to make your life better, and some self control.

I opened up this question expecting for the plus size model to be a regular woman as they usually are. Instead, she turned out to be morbidly obese. How do people find this healthy or attractive? The grand irony of it is that skinny models get so much crap for promoting unhealthy lifestyles yet obese models are commended for promoting a healthier body image. Is it really that hard to just use someone at a normal weight? I really hate how we're a society of extremes.

We should idolize athletes for our health figures. They eat plenty and get plenty of exercise and are in great shape. We should just use the French models whic literally means manikin or hanger just to show clothes
