Boxers jump rope so I would assume it would fit in well with your routine. I actually really enjoy it, it's easy to get into the rhythm and just keep going - plus I find the repetition and noise very comforting. Maybe comforting is the wrong word, meditative is more fitting.
But yeah, if you do it right you will get your heart rate up and that's always a good thing with exercise.

Skipping is excellent for cardiovascular fitness, so would improve your boxing, but for muscle tone I suggest you do some proper strength training. Squats and lunges for legs, Russian twists, planks and bicycle crunches for core.
Any kind of aerobics is good for overall muscle tone...
Well try an uneven surface for jumping rope..
I can lie down under so that you can jump on me, if you want. LOL
Yes very much so. I use a speed rope and a weighted speed rope. Love them.

Jumping rope is mainly cardio, but you will use all muscles for it. Its not made for building muscle, but it will improve endurance.
Definitely. Boxers typically jump rope as part of their conditioning. It not only helps with stamina, but agility too.
