How do you feel when people stare and how do you cope with it?

Ok guys and girls I was told the other day I have spinal damage in my lower back which results in my horrible leg pain and constant stopping and bending forwards I had it in worsening state for 12 years now cause being found last week after Mri results and it's likely to only get worse. I struggle with most day to day things due to pain but it gets worse when out and then people stare especially pensioners and older people , my girl hates it and to be honest I do , have you ever suffered peope staring at you and how did you learn to cope with it for me it's hard to deal with and aslo girlfriend Hannah because she feels like they are aslo staring at her too as neither of us have been really stared at before

I make direct eye contact with the starer. I don't break until they look away. Most people don't realize they are doing it. But I don't like it when I am stared at. My fiance walks with a slight limp due to a hip problem and he gets looks sometimes. I do what I said before and stare right back. I think its part of our animal instinct that asserts dominance over the other person by not breaking the stare. They sheepishly look away. Sorry you have to deal with that.
