Girls, period help?

Okay so I was expecting my period to come today but it hasn't come yet. I'm going to the mall later on today and I was wondering if I could wear light blue jean shorts? I would wear a pad too but I don't know if wearing those shorts would be safe since I was expecting my period today. Is it okay to wear the shorts?

Go ahead. A pad will protect you long enough that you'll be able to take care of it. Make sure to have more protection with you, too. Wouldn't hurt to bring an extra pair of underwear and maybe even an extra pair of shorts.
