Fad diets don't work long term. It needs a change in eating habits. Fruit and veggies alone will lose weight, but will also lose muscle because of the lack of protein. What you need is to balance everything correctly. Carbs, protein, fats, sugars, fruit and veg, and dairy.
The most important thing is to use low fat, low sugar products ALL the time. No fresh orange juice. It's full of fructose, which is fruit sugar. Use lighter-than-light mayo. (it's 1/10 of the calories). A slice of chocolate gateau is 500 cals, over one quarter of your daily requirements. Avoid fullfat milk, skimmed is better.
It's a lifestyle change, but it's possible. I lost 30lbs over 6 months. Not very much each week, but it's sustainable, which is what you need. Huge weight loss in a very short time can give you liver problems if you aren't careful!
