Lately I've noticed my back has been hurting a lot, like it needs 2 be popped. My dad has this problem too, but my dad is skeptical about chiropractors so his solution is to just bear hug me until my back pops, then walk on his to pop it. He says me walking on his back helps, but i dont think that can be safe, and although my back feels a little better once its popped my dad doesn't know how to not make me feel like im about to be snapped like a twig and the relief never lasts so i find myself feeling the need to pop it within a few hours. I want to visit a chiropractor and see it that may help, and i want to stop walking on my dads back because i have a fear of falling or hurting him. Can anyone tell me the risks and benifits of chiropractic care?
There aren't many risks, they spend about a decade in medical school.
I have been going since I was 15. I have scoliosis and lordosis. Without the regular treatment my conditions would get worse and I would be in constant pain and have trouble functioning. Before I started going, I had headaches all the time.
I stopped going for a few years in my 20s and the pain came back.
If you need it, go. Not all back conditions can be cured, but chiropractor treatment does stop them progressing.
