+1 yMostly vanity, honestly, haha. I hate when I don't look better than everyone else in the room, so that drives me. But also health, especially considering my age. I see so many people in their 30s that have just let it all go to hell. Aging happens, it's unavoidable, but you can keep your body right. And your metabolism only gets worse, so it's important to me to stay ahead of it. I always think of it as making this the routine now, so I'm not one of those people that never works out until they go to the doctor at 44 and the doc is like "dude, you need to change your lifestyle before you have a heart attack.", and then struggle to do it because they're not used to it. And then thirdly, working out is just fun and therapeutic for me. The gym is my sanctuary. Almost every day, I go there, put my headphones on, forget about whatever is fucked up or stressful in my life, and it's just me and the weights. Love it. Same deal with cardio, get on the bike, headphones on, hood up, and just zone out for a while, paying attention to nothing but my heart rate. I legitimately feel incomplete on days I don't work out. And one of the biggest motivators for me is knowing how easy it is to get OUT of shape relative to how much harder it is to get IN shape. It's not fair, really, haha. I've fallen out of the routine around the holidays before, and after the Thanksgiving and Christmas season I'll get on the scale, and holy fuck, I gained ten pounds! And that 5 weeks of slipping will take me 15 weeks to correct it just to get back to square one. So it's not worth missing workouts for me. That's what really pushes me when I feel too tired or lazy to go.

+1 yI run and do all the core/ab workout stuff too partially because I like the feeling of being in shape and knowing I am healthy (or at least healthier than if I didn't run). I also enjoy running in general though. It is calming, like taking a walk or riding a bike, especially if you do with other people. If I do it alone I just get to watch the scenery as I run by, check out what's going on around the campus with the people or places I pass, and if I really needed to I could get some thinking done.
I have a goal to get better at running, so I might as well work on it.11 Reply
+1 yWhat's your motivation for getting in shape?
B. To be healthy
Though honestly it is more of a stay in shape then get in shape. I remain the same shape even with bingeing and not exercising however in my opinion that is not healthy behaviors.
I am not homosexual or bisexual so I do not want to attract gals.
LMFAO @ the notion of attracting men. I find most male attraction and attention to be quite negative. For me it is mostly creepy, disruptive, misogynistic, and/or sexist. Acknowledging male attraction as anything but oh so wonderful and complimentary tends to be sh*tted on. If anything I would immensely enjoy decreasing it to non-existent without me having to change who I am, what I do, or how I look. Unfortunately I am to be burdened by male attraction and attention until I fortunately age out of male appeal. I truly thank male's seeming shallowness and fixation on youth.
I have no desire to take over the world considering male inhabitants. If guys suddenly died out I'd be into taking over the world and resolving world hunger and cancer.
Superpowers in my opinion are too much of a double edged sword.10 Reply
758 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Health, firstly. I started going to the gym because I realized my cardio health was complete shit. Going up the stairs to my 3rd floor class one semester and being a complete mess while my friends were cool as cucumbers got me pretty concerned.
Now that I have been working out for 2+ years and definitely have pretty good cardio health, it's a combination of continuing that, as well as the maintenance or results I've achieved. So the maintenance of my confidence and overall improved level-headedness. :)13 Reply- +1 y
It helped me a lot to go regularly with a friend for the first few weeks. Until the results are so good, losing them would be like throwing money out the window and having had all those sore muscles in vain.
A friend being there till then could help you start associating working out with more positive things, actually being enjoyable versus 'oh, guess it's time to head to the gym and force myself to do these reps/time doing cardio until I can get the hell outta there'. :/
If that's not your thing, you could set fitness goals. Like doing a certain amount of sets with a specific heavier weight than previously. Or hitting a calorie count within a pre-set smaller time frame, upping efficiency on cardio.
Good luck! :)

Honestly man, I mainly want to be healthy. I have like thirty pounds until my ideal weight, and that's what I care about most. I keep my latest blood test results pinned to my bedroom wall, actually. I remember you posting that you had hypothyroid too, so I know how the weight sneak up on you--I just keep looking at my results as they get better and better, and it drives me.
Do I want to feel even better about myself? Yeah, I do. I'm not gonna lie about it. Most of that comes from my feelings about my health, though. I already feel like I look pretty good, in that modest but confident way.23 Reply
+1 y"What's your motivation for getting in shape?" Umm, sex appeal I guess.
Cuz the more sex appeal that you have usually equals more pussy that you'll get or an easier life when it comes to the opposite gender, in general, right?
So I guess I started working to give these girls something to look at EYE CANDY wise. Ya know since that'll usually lead to them flirting with me if not trying to fuck me in not too long. Since they like what they see/feel when it comes to me body/face wise I guess 😊 😎

OFC I did it to get stronger + grew into my body more. but yeah it was also to get these girls horny if I'm being honest with myself LOL

Agreed ^_^
Honestly, nothing. I have this sickness (or disorder as people call it) where I can't gain weight (or get fat) no matter how much I eat, somehow seems to be inherited from le mum. So even if I don't work out, I'm still in shape.
And by not being able to gain weight, I don't literally mean zero weight gain lol. I'd gain like say 1 or 2kg but that's it, then I'd lose another 2 or 3kg easily even if I don't want to.
But yeah, I do work out lol. Just to keep my preoccupied and I sweat easily ahah but it's fun 🙈 running around the neighborhood and getting all sweaty lol!13 Reply
+1 yall those people who think they are doing it for themselves :) and to be healthy! you make me laugh!
I know one thing, when i first started training, it was for a girl... thats it, one girl, just cause she mentioned she liked big shoulders!!! lol!!!
i trained shoulders 3 times a week in HS lol!!!
Now, i can truly say i train for myself, no girls care about how swole my rear delts are, i dono girls care about my arms being as thick as my calves, and my neck being as thick as my arm
i train to fit my own idea of perfection, thats it12 Reply- +1 y
Ladies can be a mans biggest motivation
+1 yAll of the above and yet none of the above...
For A: I want to get freaking gorgeous so I could attract men if needed but I don't actually want to attract any men
B: that's just a nice side effect but certainly motivating
C. Obviously I prefer to take over the world on the sly, one gager at a time but physical strength may come into play
D. I already have super powers but more would be nice.
In reality working out is the one thing I do for myself. It's one of the happiest times of the day typically.14 Reply- +1 y

First and foremost; health <3 If you don't take care of your body, your body won't take care of you! Secondly, I go to a lot of events, do some hosting, and public speaking for work so being in shape really helps maintain my confidence. Plus there's nothing quite like a dress that lays on your body delightfully!

Getting shape is one of the best investments you could make for yourself! You'll feel better plus it's important... imagine how many people on 9/11 wanted to carry someone down a flight of stairs but sincerely lacked the physical strength. :/ :( Crazy world we live in. The risk of all these conditions isn't exactly appealing. Excess amounts of fat is not healthy nor attractive.11 ReplySo I can do all the things I want to do. I really love hiking, kayaking, things like that. I want to try rock climbing too! But I'm not very strong so I feel too limited. I'm actually okay with how I look (I could be thinner and more toned, but I'm not bad), but I don't function at the level I want to.
11 ReplySuper powers for me :) Seriously, having a fully functional body (which is different from bulky or attractive) - combined with the development of certain skills - are key to be able to respond to many life situations and it's the closest you'll get from getting super powers.

I make it myself. Just use cream flavored soda with 1/4 tsp of butter flavored extract and microwave until warm for the topping just whip heavy whipping cream and if you want before you whip the whipping cream you can mix some butter flavored extract in after the butterbeer is warm just top it with the whipped cream and voila! It's delicious @Girly1710
- +1 y
You can also try the butterbeer latte just mix 2 tbsp of melted butter and 2 tbsp of brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat once those combine mix in enough milk to fill a mug however big you want then add in a tsp of vanilla and 1/4 tsp of cinnamon wait until it boils and pour into a mug. It's really hot so be careful but it seriously tastes like Fall in a glass. @Girly1710
