RUNNERS: Is it a good idea to get 2 pairs of the same running shoe you love on sale so you can switch between them?

I bought on sale the same model in different colors of my favorite pairs of running shoes cuz I run about 30miles a week, give or take, and so instead of paying aroun $70-$90 every 6-9months on running shoes, I found 2 new pairs on ebay for $50 and the other $60 and wanted to know if there is any benefits to switching between two pairs of the same shoe?

Yeah, you shouldn't wear your running shoes as every day shoes. You'll put too many miles on them and wear them out. If you really, really like the shoe, buy two pairs and hide one pair away. It's not fun to find out they've stopped making your favorite shoe and you have to find a new one.

Oh no I NEVER wear my running shoes as every day shoes-they also get extra smelly any way, i have a separate pair with extra support just for walking around it

If the shoe fits perfectly and you like it, then go for it.

I've got 2 additional pairs of running shoes stocked up in my closet.
Though I don't switch between them. The first one is lasting a really long time and I will switch it out as soon as it becomes unwearable.

Nice!! Yea, not sure if I will switch or not-my old ones of the same brand have lasted almost a year now on 30miles a week, despite people saying you should switch them every 3 months

Absolutely!!! Shoes are expensive and sometimes it's tricky to find a model you like. When they're on sale and you can afford both- go for it!!!

Of course! Both pairs of shoes will last twice as long. I have two pairs of running shoes also.

Why two different models? What difference does it make? Unless you're looking for a new model or something.

Well the article said ideas like a lightweight pair for the roads and speed, and a trail running shoe if you do that type of thing a lot or a more supportive one for other such longer runs. Meh I like my shoes!

It's good to have two pairs anyway, especially if you intend on running everyday... switch between them so you don't get the inner sole compressed on the same shoe

Good for the shoes which in turn is good for your feet and joints

I do this sometimes also when shoes are on sale and they fit me. Same for jeans and shorts.
