you can't change your metabolism, anything that promises to boost/rev up/speed up your metabolism is full of shit. The only thing that's going to work is eating less calories than it takes to maintain your current weight. There are plenty of calculators online that will take your current height and weight and calculate how many calories it will take to lose a pound or two a week, and you can track how many cals you eat through apps like myfitnesspal. For extra accuracy I would recommend a food scale as lots of people under estimate their portion sizes then get upset that they aren't losing weight.
Yes exercise is important but we don't burn nearly as much as we think we do and the machines at the gym aren't accurate so yes, exercise will help you lose faster as long as you don't eat back your calories. Personally I don't bother entering fitness activities into MFP because it's really tempting to believe you burned 400+cals and think it's alright to snack because 'you went to the gym/ran' today.
I also found when I first started working out that drinking tons of water really helps shed water weight. I drink about 12 cups of water a day and during my first week of weight loss I was dropping one or two pounds a day just from water. I'm telling you all the steps I've used so far to lose almost 20lbs since January

There's no 'tricking' your body into losing weight. It either loses it, or doesn't.
Things you could do to boost metabolism and make any weight loss 'easier' than simply making massive caloric deficits that will help you lose weight fast but are not sustainable so you'll gain it back just as quick would include things like :
-eat a high-fiber diet
-cut out processed/high-sugar foods, even juice
-workout
Working out is one way in which you can boost your natural metabolic rate. It'll increase it not only as/immediately after you work out, but also afterwards. Muscle has a much higher metabolic rate than fat so even if you have to take a couple days off of working out, whatever muscle mass you managed to attain will still be giving you a boosted metabolism.
I've found that speed-walking everywhere does the trick. I end up walking a good hour and a half per day, because it's all places I need to go. Since I started doing this (beginning of the year) I've lost 20 lbs. I'm roughly at my target weight, though, so it's hard to lose much more.
You used the right word "incorporate exercise," but I just want to make sure you mean what you said. Everything you do you should do like you have high energy. Sweeping the floor, mowing the lawn, packing, taking a shower... do it all faster. This will 'trick' your body into thinking you are high energy, and start tapping into its stored energy (i. e. fat) to get it. Of course, this only works if you have ample physical activities with which to occupy your time, and should be done apart from routine exercise. Keep in mind that it does take some getting used to, though..
Your BMR is pretty much set... Even if you can boost your metabolism the effects are negligible.
I've heard that raspberries can boost your calorie burn. Won't hurt to try they are good for you anyways.

not eating at nighttime and eating two homemade meals is a surefire way to get your body to a normal level. its a common practice in my area when someone wants to lose weight. it might not work if you are healthy at your weight and you have a big frame.
One thing you could do is walk 1-2 hours per day. Drink 1.5L-2L per day. Eat about 500 calories less than what you normally do. You will HAVE to calculate what you eat in a diary for 3 days. That will give you an idea of what you really are eating. Reduce by 500 calories each week you drop 2.2 pounds.
If you aren't eating right and exercising you're not gonna lose weight and maintain a healthy weight. Sorry. Put in some work and quit looking for an easy way out.
The "trick" is to burn more calories than you eat. It's not a trick, by the way. There is no simple or easy way, you have to exercise. With a big goal, you have to exercise a lot.
The trick is that you can't trick it. Your body is smarter that you think. The best way is a good diet and exercise.
by burning more calories than you take in. it´s dead simple. don´t just take in a lot less, cause that will put your body in emergency state. eat slightly less and work out a lot. this will do.
None of the quick and easy ways to weight loss are healthy. Aim to lose 2ish lbs. per week. Count Calories and exercise an hour a day or so. See your doctor.
There's this new diet plan, you eat clean, eat less and work out!!!
Mind blown!!
