How do I trick my body into weight loss?

I've heard that there are ways to "trick" your body into weight loss. I've got a pretty big goal...65lbs. I know losing weight should also incorporate exercise but I was wondering if there are tricks you can use to boost metabolism? Are there any foods that boost metabolism? Would staggering caloric intake from day to day help? Are there any exercises that are efficient in aiding metabolism? I appreciate any advice or suggestions, thank you!
