Republican much? Oh boy, where to start with this one...
Ok, first off, not everyone shares your opinion, just because you think something doesn't mean that you are automatically the voice of America. The fact that this bill passed in a democratically elected congress pushed forward by a democratically elected president proves that it was democratic, get it?
While you are complaining about how socialized healthcare doesn't work, maybe you should take your head out of your ass and look at other countries that have ALREADY IMPLEMENTED IT, and where it is VERY SUCCESSFUL. Immediate care is immediate, urgent cases are seen immediately, and people who need emergency treatment are given it right away, unlike some examples I could give you from the previous American system. People with cancer who are in immediate danger WILL get the operations to save their life, and won't have to sell a house to do it. What it means in other countries is that someone is not prioritized by how much insurance they pay, instead by how urgently they need care, the way it should be done.
Have you even been reading what's gone into the bill? Senior citizens are guaranteed better care than what they had before. Let me guess, you believe the claims about "death committees" too?
As for the money, America is already so far in debt that this is just a drop in the bucket, something you can blame on the last guy to sit in the Oval Office. This plan is actually cheaper in the long run than the current system, it just costs a lot to implement, and that is being spread out over 10 years.
Oh, and also, believe me when I say that because all Americans are now guaranteed the first third of "Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness" doesn't mean that you're going to be censored, or all those other ridiculous things you said. All they are doing in regards to abortion is maintaining the current laws, not taking away women's rights, in fact they specified that Abortion is legal in cases of rape, incest, or for the health of the mother. All you're doing right now is being an alarmist.
What this is doing is taking America out of trouble. That "great place" called America died with Bush, but maybe this health care reform is the start of bringing it back to life, either way it is certainly a step in the right direction.

You've got it right. I don't understand why everyone thinks that socialized healthcare is good? In theory yes it sounds great, but in reality it is a terrible system. Look at Canada, people die waiting to try and get treatment. People from other countries come here for medical treatment because they know that here if they got the money they can get treated immediately. I'm not saying that our healthcare system is the greatest, but it does get the job done. Unfortunately Obama will continue to play to the large percentage of America that are just looking for handouts, and can't accept the fact that they might actually have to get a real job and stop living off welfare. Again unfortunately many people have this lazy mentality and can't take responsibility for their actions, and will probably give Obama a good shot at the next election. I think it's pretty funny how someone called you a racist. It's not racist it's common sense, why should anyone who is here illegally get all of the same rights that I have as an American?
I see that you are trying to make a point and I respect that. But spewing out rhetoric without anything to back it up isn't going to initiate a productive conversation. "40% of doctors are rumored to quit" ? Really...and how else are they going to earn money? "Where else does this work in the real world?" Just for starters look at world ratings for maternal care. And I can go on..but won't bother, when you're obviously just regurgitating what you hear from some Rupublican mouthpieces. That said..in relation to health care, one major cause of high insurance costs are medical problems due to preventable causes. There should be either more of an incentive or more of a penalty for people to take better care of their health. I know that it is totally impractical in our PC society to basically fine someone for a high BMI, but when you're morbidly obese and needing expensive joint replacements etc ...I don't feel that I should have to indirectly pay for that. But something like that would be almost impossible to implement (and would run into TOO many legal problems)...it's just a thought.
I was against the health care bill, unfortuantely it passed and will take four years to take action. Which by that time I believe we will have a new president (republican) and most people (democrats) will blame him for the health care problems. Also, did you know that those who passed the bill do not have to accept it, and get much better health care than anyone of us normal people who work hard and have decent insurance...
Sucks, doesn't it?
One step towards communism. achieved.

The problem that no one talks about is the money we are spending that we frankly don't have. All this money is borrowed money...from the Chinese and Japan; nearly 44% of the total foreign owned debt link . Some day we will have to pay it back and there comes a point where the interest alone will eat us alive and in some ways, already is. See this chart link We have to stop somewhere and no one seems to be willing and bold enough to say we simply don't have the money to keep spending on entitlements that we can not afford. Otherwise this great nation will fall, if it isn't already.

The dichotomy is Obama keeps taxing the "rich" when what we need is businesses revitalizing this country to be more competitive. There are many very smart people in countries outside of the U.S. who will work for pennies on the dollar who want our jobs. As a country we continue to fall in our standing of creating smart people who can compete with other countries. Watch this videoor pick up "The World is Flat" and be prepared to be scared.
Although I do appreciate what Obama is working to do, he is taking from the very people who could make this country strong again as well as racking up a deficit link we will pay for generations to come. You know, if you had posted this as your profile, I would have respected your ideas and gone on my way.
"Oh and go make friends with terror-happy countries like Iran and why don't you just write them a check too." I fail to see how promoting peace among countries that we have tensions with is the same as being submissive.
"Give everyone who floats over here and can't speak English healthcare too while you're at it." I wonder if there is any racial undertones here...
"Hey, actually just take away my freedom of speech, I know that's bound to happen." Right, of course. can't have you spewing away conservative ideas like fox. Is that why they're still on the air?
"How about a womans right to choose? Take that away too? Because everyone wants to keep a baby they weren't planning on due to an unfortunate event like rape." Do your homework, republicans are trying to do this.
"What happened to capitalism? We are a socialist country now" Then why the hell do I still have to work?
"What happened to this great place called America?"
America is, and has always been, great because of its ability to change to the will of the people. November 2008, people made their choice. Good luck in 2012. I'd have posted links to research that would refute your claims, but no doubt you would have ignored them, please reply if you still would :Dhave you ever looked at world health care rankings? we're not even in the top 30, this will make our health care look more like those countries that are highly ranked. Also, I don't think you can judge how things will work until they're actually implemented. I think before anyone judges this, whether they think it's a good or bad thing, they need to take the time to see how it will pan out. You just reinforced why political parties shouldn't exist, it's not so black and white, just because someone is a democrat, or republican for that matter, doesn't mean you should automatically bash their ideas. Start looking at the facts instead of the parties.
The student loan reform has just been tacked on to get it passed, it is pretty much unrelated to the health care bill. The money from that is not going to help pay for the health care, but instead for other education related things. Apart from the fact that they are being passed together they are completely unrelated.
