Squats without muscle. Is it possible?

(Speaking from someone who has trained (i. e. weight training) for several years)
It's a common myth that if you do leg workouts (squats, deadlifts, etc.) your legs will bulk up and get huge; while that may be the case, there are several factors that contribute to it (reps, sets, weight, fuel/diet, etc.) It also depends on how you're built; HOWEVER, here are a couple helpful points to keep in mind...
Squats target three main muscles:
-Glutes
-Hamstrings
-Quads
(though squats also involve the abdominal muslces and obliques)
That being said, each of those muscles are targeted differently and at different intensities. Squats primarily target the glutes and quads. The muscles that are secondary to that are the hamstrings, and the muscles that are targeted "accessory" (some call it tertiary) to that are the calves.
So, while squats are a "leg" exercise, they don't merely target legs alone, and they don't automatically mean that your legs will get big simply from doing them.
Also, as a GENERAL guideline, when your goal is to tone, you usually use light weights and perform a higher number of reps. (conversely, when your goal is to build mass, you'd usually use heavy weights and perform a lower number of reps.)
Since you said you did squats for a while, I'm sure you saw the changes in your own body - did your legs get bigger? Or did they get toned? Based on those results, don't let other people scare you into or out of workouts. If your legs got more toned from doing those workouts, then keep doing what you were doing.
Squats will not burn fat. They will tighthen your legs and make them lean. Unless you have tiny legs, they will not get extra muscular, your muscles will only harden up.

"I don't want to get ripped" lol.
Yes, your legs will look bigger. More toned. But there's NO CHANCE IN HELL that they'll become ripped.
1. You don't have testosterone
2. You're not even using weights
