Yes, you do, but you only lose whatever is in your bladder that comes out. I always weigh myself before and after I pee - just to see how much water weight I'm getting rid of. I think one day when I weighed myself, I lost about 1/2 pound after peeing! However, I know that it can help you to keep your intestines cleared out, which can help keep weight off. Your intestines can hold waste for days, which can add up to a few extra pounds when you are weighing yourself. When you flush it out (normally by eating foods high in fiber and drinking water, which is essential in helping fiber to do its job), you will actually see a change in your weight. It's normally slight, because your body will normally eliminate most of the waste, but if you have not gone to the bathroom at least once a day and eliminated this waste, it can clog up your intestines (constipation) and can begin to make your weight seem like it's going up. If you keep your water intake up and have plenty of fiber, there should be no problem with getting rid of waste. Also, yes, drinking plenty of water (8 cups of water daily) helps keep the urinary system functioning properly. Our kidneys filter the liquid that we take in every day, so if we drink anything other than water, our kidneys will have to filter it out every day. This is what causes urine to be dark yellow or brownish in color sometimes. Our kidneys have to work harder when they have to continually filter out what we are drinking, so it's better to drink plenty of water to keep them flushed out. Also, our body is made up of over 75% water, and all of our organs, including our brain needs water to function properly, so if you aren't drinking enough water, your organs will have to work harder and may not function to the best of their ability. Our cells of our body are mostly made up of water as well. People who do not drink enough water have dry skin, which can cause damage in older age. Alzheimer's is also linked to not drinking enough water. When we drink enough water, and our bodies function properly, we will feel better and be healthier. Also, when it comes to weight loss, water helps our metabolisms to function properly as well and regulates our body temperature, which normally goes up when we consume any type of food. Water helps to prevent our bodies, which are like machines, from becoming overheated. At any rate, I guess I have discussed the benefits of water pretty much now, so I hope that I have at least answered your question.

yes, you lose like a fraction of water weight. That's great if you are a wrestler, but the kind of weight most people want to lose is from fat.

water helps by substituting for the soda/sugary crap you normally drink + it fills you up, and 3rd, it helps boost your metabolism(I suspect).
all I know is that I feel so much better after a glass of water. Not really. Obviously a little but if you weigh your pee, its not much. The main reason drinking water helps lose weight is because water fills you up so eat you less and snack less.
