This sounds very painful. In addition to fiber you need to walk at a comfortable pace every day. Start with a distance you can manage and work up gradually.
You also need to drink enough water. Again begin with a small amount and increase slowly. There are zero calorie flavored waters.
Ask your doctor if you can take Miralax. It's over the counter and works differently, pulling water into the bowel. Also ask him/her if you need a stool softener.
If you had normal digestion until a month ago maybe you need an MRI. There could be something blocking your intestinal passage. It's better to find out as soon as possible. See if you are covered by insurance.
Hope you feel better soon.

My sister was Known this Years, Dear... It sounds like "Lazy Bowel Syndrome." She has even H her Gall Bladder out.
The Best from the Rest thing that this Doctor is Doing for her now, He has Put her on a Medicated laxative Newt. Ask your doctor.) that she takes periodically. It has helped her Some, hun, But once in a While she is Bound up or even has the Runs. xx
It sounds like your describing IBS-C (irritable bowel syndrome with constipation). Try asking for a referral to a gastroenterologist, and have them check to see what's wrong.
Also, severe constipation is a student of a lot of medications, so if you're talking certain medicines, you could try taking alternatives with no or less-severe side effects.
Try taking a good probiotic. When the gut bacteria in your gut is not enough then it can cause constipation. Take a probiotic that contains Limosilactobacillus Reuteri
