Yeah, humans need social contact or we start to go insane. Loneliness can't suddenly stop your heart just like smoking a cigarette can't, but it can increase your heart-rate, put you at risk for hypertension and heart disease, cause depression, anxiety and a plethora of other conditions that could significantly shorten your life. Not to mention the insanity.
This is actually a good thing, evolutionarily speaking. In the wild only about half of men who survive to adulthood end up passing on their genes (genetic evidence). The other half were lonely, but when they get old and can't contribute anymore, they can't be soaking up resources for the tribe so they were frequently ostracized. They went away and within a few months died on their own. This is why when singular human remains are found, they're usually male (archaeological evidence). Basically, death by loneliness is a way to remove extra male members of the tribe from play when they aren't useful anymore.

So here is what I believe, people are social creatures but not all people have to be social. I do believe that some social interactions will help a person live a little longer but it doesn't mean that they had to be a part of a large group. Interactions with others even if it's just Animals help a person get by through their day-to-day normal human stress and I know stress can be killer and I think social interactions of the good kind can help against that but not having anyone there can cause you to go insane which can cause you to injure oneself
I think loneliness can't kill you directly but can create situations where you might actually end your life yourself.
It can make you depressed and anxious. You can start to feel bad about yourself and things you did. It'll make you feel guilty for anything that happens wrong with you and your close ones.
Well, touch starvation is a thing that has been known to kill babies, and prolonged solitary confinement causes a rapid deterioration in mental health which increases the risk of suicide. So pretty much yeah :(

I read somewhere that studies had been carried out on it and there is a social need in some, although a animal case one stated fish in a tank get used to each other and when 1 fish is left it gets lonely and can die within days of loosing the others dogs have been known to pine for their owners and die not long after loosing their owners but these are the closest I can think to your question
Not directly, no.

This video kind of explains some of it:You cannot literally die from loneliness, however you can go insane and possibly commit suicide due to that insanity. When humans are fully isolated from other beings, (mostly human) they basically begin to lose their grasp on reality.
Yes its called suicide. We are social animals, prolonged isolation results in psychosis almost universally. It is difficult to remain alive uncared for in a psychotic state.
In humans it is more rare but yes. Being lonely can effect your health and chemical balance in your body. When this happens the body will get very sick, either mentally or physically or both.
Nope. You can't die from loneliness. You can commit suicide brought on by a depression caused by loneliness though
Most likely not die but develeop some kind of a mental illness. Depression might lead to death though.
It depends on the person. There's a dude in Colorado, works for the state. He has live on a mountain, by himself for 70+ years. He has contact with the outside world once a year. He's 93 and still alive.
Loneliness actually is very bad for you and can cause health problems that COULD kill you so... Maybe in a roundabout way
Not directly I believe but it can effect your mental health such as lead to depression or anxiety and that in turn effects your lifestyle choices and that can reduce your life expectancy
So it is more root cause than a direct link I believeIt is. Loneliness can lead to depression and depression has a negative effect on the immune system, so:
Loneliness: depression: week immune system: a gateway for harmful virus, bacteria's and other things that can compromise the body defenses.Broken Heart, Yes, van get so Physically and Mentally Il, Die if you Will. (lol Not you) xx
I'm not sure. I think it depends on the person. They're are people who live in hills and woods alone, out in the world. So I don't think so
Not sure about natural death, but it can lead to suicide. So, yes.
It does significantly shorten your lifespan. Some even suggest its more harmful than alcoholicism and daily smoking combined. So yes, loneliness can kill you, just not quickly.
Depression kills. And loneliness causes depression, so yes. Loneliness can kill.
Loneliness leads to depression. Depression leads to suicide.
Yes, you can die from loneliness. It can result in a lower life span, at least according to many psychologists.
Definitely not I went a year without talking to anyone outside of work.
Well, it can induce suicide. I would say it can kill you indirectly.
