Depends on what the sound is coming from, not the loudness of the noise.
The most interesting one first! I can have trouble falling asleep if i realise that i can hear my heartbeat.
I can't sleep with a door in the home thats not closed and ticking at irregular intervals.
I can't sleep with my brother and his girlfriend making almost indetectable kissing sounds.
I can't sleep with people talking in their backyards.
I can sleep when it's storming.
I can sleep when my rats are wrecking their cage (running around, gnawing at wood)
I can sleep with earphones in and music playing.

Absolute silence or music.
I am just as comfortable falling asleep in absolute silence as I am with earphones on and anything from classical music to Rammstein playing in my ears.
But if someone simply knocks on my doors or begins having a not so loud conversation around me, I'm up and cranky.
I don't even want to get started on people who snore
For me it has to be completely quiet. Unfortunately for the people around me, I myself am a huge sleep talker. It's quite ironic, because I wake up at the slightest of movement or sound even though I stay sound asleep when I'm screaming about some irrational or illogical stuff.
i've never had loud noises when I sleep other than one time in Barcelona but it depends how tired I am. If I'm tired enough - I will fall asleep no matter how much pain I'm in or how loud it is.

Absolute silence or white noise. Loud noises give me headache.
I can sleep in silence or with a constant noise like from a fan. I can't sleep with irregular noise like people talking, music playing, TV on, construction noise, etc. I usually run a couple of fans mostly for the noise because their constant noise will cover most other sounds that might otherwise wake me up.
A year ago, i couldn't sleep without absolute silence, but this year i studied so hard, because i started studying medecine in the university, so i have a lot of "sleep dept" that makes me sleep whenever i want, anytime, anywhere, the length i want, under any situation.
I need it to be very quiet and pitch dark. If it's noises from natural causes I don't care, but if it's sound from a TV, a person, or something of the sort I can't go to sleep unless I'm really tired. Also, if there is any lights in my room it's harder for me to go to sleep, so I make sure my room is pitch dark when I sleep with no lights. Even the small ones that don't shine much.
If I'm really tired it doesn't make a difference. I've fallen asleep with the TV on dozens of time. But there's nothing like a good ol' sleep in absolute silence
It takes time but learned to sleep with trains going by, slow drips in sinks, Grand father clocks, music, tv.
certain cases its me winding down that is the hardest.I need absolute silence. My partner needs background noise, but I can't sleep when he's playing the radio or something for background noise..
I can’t sleep with loud noises, music, talking. Natural sounds like wind, rain, even a thunderstorm doesn’t bother me.
I need relative silence to fall asleep but once I am asleep my mind will continue to rest even if I get woken up momentarily by a loud noise.
Depends on how loud it is and when it starts. If I am already sleeping i will sleep through it however if I am trying to fall asleep it would have to be my type of music otherwise it will take s wgile for me to fall asleeep
I need silence... which really sucks if your boyfriends special ability is loud snoring 🙉
I like to put some music on sometimes. I can be a heavy sleeper so usually im good with noise
I fall asleep easier in front of a TV than with silence. In fact I usually have to have some white noise to get to sleep most of the time, probably to block out traffic noises.
I can only fall asleep if I'm watching something or I have music in the background - generally soft music. I find it difficult to sleep in complete silence.
I need a calm surrounding to fall asleep (I don't mind a clock tho) but when I'm asleep I don't wake up that easily... I always sleep through thunder and other loud sounds😂
I need silence..
Unless.. It's one of my white noiseI totally can sleep my beloved boyfriend is snoring like a pig by my side. 😍 Actually i sleep even better when they are snoring loud lol
It depends on the noise, and how loud. Total silence, or lots of times I've fallen asleep watching tv and it doesn't bother me.
I can take quite a lot of noise in the background, and still sleep. But there are limits, especially if there are sudden loud noises.
Preferably some relaxing sounds like the fan or certain types of music.
