I study medicine and partied hard on the side, with lots of booze. I lost about 4 kgs in my first year (in my country we start uni at 18, so maybe the furst few years of what I call medicine are called premed in the USA).
Our university has a sports centre. It's not too close to my dorm, but I cycle there. Call it a warmup/cooldown! Went about 1-2 times a week in my first year. It's great to get rid of stress.
Poor quality food is your own choice. Cooking is cheaper than takeout and doesn't have to take too much time. Veggies, fruits, whole grain everything and enough water between beers fueled me throughout college. Of course I eat crap too, but as long as I get my greens in, the instant noodles and chocolate aren't really an issue.

Everybody's body is different so weight gain can vary but it isn't uncommon to gain weight in college. Stress, lack of sleep, and eating unhealthy food will do that to you. To lose weight, you just have to take care of yourself. This means you have to do the opposite of what caused the weight gain.
It is perfectly normal and nothing to be ashamed of. Girls are not supposed to be stick thin, that is a twisted obsession of modern society and nothing else. Most girls fill out quite a bit in college, and it is a perfectly normal thing. The latest research actually suggests that being steadily overweight is much healthier than yo-yo dieting and constant fluctuation in weight. Rather than trying to loose a bunch of weight you should eat normally and allow your body to find its natural plateau. Focus on studying and getting good grades rather than changing yourself to please society. And honestly, I think you look great with the weight, it gives you nice feminine curves. Just be yourself and focus on school.
Although the old wives' tale mentions the "Freshman Fifteen"- the number of pounds a freshman gains the first year in college- numerous studies show that the fifteen pound gain is over-rated, and 4-6 pound gains are more the norm. See your doctor, to get the OK to add exercise and adjust foods.

People would usually call that the freshman 15 or whatever because usually you'll just be doing whatever because we're young and it doesn't really matter but yeah its common to gain weight in college basically...
only thing I can say is that hopefully your school has a gym or something or maybe a hiking club? Something to let you be a little more active in your last year if you really wanna lose weight.I don't really understand the poll you created-- asking "is it normal" requires a poll that has answers of "yes" or "no," not the things you picked. Anyway, is it normal to gain THAT much? No. Is it normal to gain some? Yes. But just because it's normal to gain some doesn't mean that it's okay or good.
Eat healthily with lots of fresh fruits and veggies and lean protein, cut out the crap that doesn't nourish your body, sleep a lot at night, and exercise hard. This isn't complicated.1. Understand your body. How it reacts to different diets
2. Start excercising. If you want to loose weight, then do excercise for weight loss but I would recommend you do cross fit excercise since it will help you shed that extra weight while making you stronger.
3. Remember the key to weight loss is 20% excercise and 80%diet planning and management.
CheersYep highly processed foods will do that. Try to switching to real foods that are not as processed. Plus stay positive and active with yourself. You will ve able to get back to your shape again. I lost 200 lbs in my efforts and i am trying to get back to my shape. If interested hmu and i will tell you more of what i am doing and you can take that info and decide if it will work for you.
My secret weight loss technique:
Do not eat breakfast, and eat dinner early. I fast for 18 hours every other day because I eat dinner around 8pm and dont eat again until 4pm the next day. I also do a morning workout to maximize the effect.Wow thats a lot of weight gain. Start exercising or become obese. Its normal if during college you're not burning more calories than you eat and diet consist of canned foods, ramen, sugary drinks, fast foods and microwavable foods.
I gained the freshman 5 in university.
That seems... excessive though. There are two things you gotta do.
1. McDonalds is not your friend
2. Get off your lazy assOMG. What a fabulous pair of tits you have. May I please ask what size you are.
