i try to eat 900-1000 calories a day
Low calorie diet and addicted to pop?
i try to eat 900-1000 calories a day
Yikes! 900-1000 is to little! It actually may hurt your ability to lose weight because your metabolism will slow down. That'll also make you feel like crap.
My suggestion is to eat a high protein diet (especially breakfast), don't drink your calories (yes--stay away from dr. pepper and juices and frappuccinos, etc.) and don't go crazy with the carbs, but don't shun them either. Basically, eat a normal amount of calories (probably closer to 2000 a day) but do it with more protein and vegetables.
Then, one day a week, eat whatever the hell you want. Including Dr. Pepper. And as much as you want. This accomplishes 2 things: first it makes it easier to stay off the "bad food" during the week if you know you CAN have it one day. And second, the spike in your calorie count speeds up your metabolism so you burn more during the week.
Then just mix in some weight training and some cardio and you'll be fine.
How much do you weigh now? How much do you need to lose?
I love DP too, gotta have it everyday. Most people don't realize they really don't need to go on a diet. The trick is eating highly flavored foods. High flavoring kills the appetite quick. Spices work to. Staying active. If all the above fail, you may want to do checks for thyroid and diabetes.
I've been eating around 1,000 calories a day for the past two months and I'm fine. Low calorie diets do work, but it needs to be in conjunction with good nutrition and physical exercise.
As for the soda addiction, try seltzer water and stevia drops. Stevia drops are kind of like organic sugar flavors and they come in peach, rootbeer, grape, vanilla, cherry, etc. etc. etc. and you can buy them at health food stores. Fill a cup with seltzer water and add a few drops off the sweetener until it's sweet enough for you. The best part? It's zero calories and comparable to the taste of soda. I'm sure you know how awful soda is for you, and it being especially detrimental to weight loss.
hmm that's awesome! ill have to try it.
Eating that few of calories isn't the absolute best. 1200 is really the minimum you should go. Any lower and you risk slowing down your metabolism and eventually gaining weight, not losing at all, or losing muscle mass, not fat.
The problem with many sodas, is not just the calories. Its the sugar. The amount of sugar is astonishing. I suggest weighing out the amount of sugar that is in 1 dr pepper and I know you will never want to drink it again!
Cut it out, drink some fizzy water with a splash of real fruit juice in it, and eat just a little more. I'm sure you've got to be hungry.
yea but that's for an average sized woman, I'm like the size of a 12 year old lol.
yea I know its not good for you and all it rots your teeth makes you fat. I just crave it alot.
hmm ill try that, iv never heard of fizzy water.. its not tonic water right?
Im 5'1, and in general that is the lowest you are supposed to go. I do a 1200 calorie per day diet.
Try not to cut too many carbs, as your brain uses them for fuel. With low fat/calorie diets, your body will store the fat you do have and do eat for fear it will never have it again. Your body needs a certain amount of fat to stay healthy, otherwise, it will store it and use your muscles for fuel- muscle loss is not good.
Fizzy water is carbonated water.
How much weight are you trying to lose? From a calorie point of view it seems OK but all the sugar just makes it empty calories, it won't give you the energy you need to work out. I recommend giving up the pop to see real big and lasting results. I kicked the habit too, it's tough but I lost weight and kept it off. Random tip, I went vegetarian and lost 7 lbs in a week and a half from diet alone. That's a lot because I'm only 98 lbs now. Just something that worked for me, hope this helps!
im trying to lose at least 10lbs. that makes since kinda blows pop is my weakness. that's cool ill have to keep that in mind
It might be a lot to give up meat/fish at the same time as pop bubo feel super healthy after changing my diet. More energetic, happier, more alert, it's great! But I guess I've kinda given up milk too. I like almond milk but I'll eat baked stuff with milk in it. But one of my friends went vegan and she lost a bit of weight, more than I did going vegetarian. It was noticeable and she's skinny to begin with. Not unhealthy but she looks great
huh well that's cool. I always thought it'd make you feel crappy.. don't you need meat for nutrition too lol. that's crazy
I know I was kinda skeptical too :) Decided to give it a week or two to see if it worked for me and I'm happy I did. I just make sure to get protein from whole grains, tofu, and nuts. I guess not having protein would make you feel crappy, like all those vegetarians who only eat stuff like cheese and crackers :P
Try quinoi too! Glad to see that as a vegetarian you are taking into account you need protein.

EAT more real food! Then you won't crave pop and junk food. Low calorie diets are horrible. They just make people sick and fatter later.
Eat plants and animals and cut out all the refined processed crap that's making everyone sick.
do they really make you gain weight later?
God didn't make ya as good-lookin' as He did, just so you could suck Dr. Pooper through a straw and waddle down the ugly hill. Stick to your diet and make the world a nicer place!
Dr. Pepper, like any soda, is just empty calories. It's *very* difficult to do a diet when you're taking that stuff. Any sweetner, even the ones with no calories, cause the body to react in a way that will make you more hungry.
Haha. You said "pop"! What are you, 70 years old! lol
Uh well you usually do 10x(your weight) means how many calories you need a day. 3500 cal= 1 pound so do what works for you.
wow I never knew that! so 1060 is what I'm supose to have so I guess I can just eat the 1000 and drink my dr pepper right lol
deffinatly! I was runnin for awhile but I'm just gonna buy a treadmill this weekend
Wrong. Find a caloric calculator to determine your caloric needs, your BMR. This takes into account your height, weight, gender, age, and activity level. You need a 500 calorie deficit per day to lose 1 pound per week, 1000 calorie deficit per day to lose 2 pounds.
Why are you on a diet? You look fine.
i want to lose 10lbs, I have a bit of belly fat and I hate it
Yeah? I love a little belly fat. F***you. :P
lol I have a bit too much :(
after having a kid your body gets whacked
