Masks have not been shown to prevent transmission of Covid. Lots of people never leave home without a mask and still get the virus.
The vaccine is the only thing that will get rid of the virus.
That may be.
But I wonder: any 'state' will not prohibit extended use (on a voluntary level) of protection measures that recently had been a 'rule'.
I think its a little early. We are so close though. Probably at the end of the month well actuall another month past that. I think a lot of people will get vaccinated this month then give them another for it to kick in and we will be on our way
It’s just science. People already know all this, but still stupidly choose to ignore it. It puts everyone’s life at risk.

Definitely. We’re so close to getting a majority of people vaccinated. There’s no reason to be egregiously irresponsible so late in the game.
It should be offset by increasing numbers of vaccinations, warmer weather, and lack of major holidays in the immediate future.
The number of deaths hasn't changed from before or during covid. Less flu deaths, more "covid" deaths. (aka flu deaths)
The entire thing is sensationalized for control through fear.

The cdc hasn't put out mortality rates for 2020.
However many cities put out flu statistics and included covid. As well as mortalities as they came in.
The numbers in most of those cities were very close to all the years prior.
Only cities like New York had bloated mortalities and that's from Governor mandates that created a poor environment with no protections for the most vulnerable. And the stupid part is Cuomo gets a Nobel nomination. What a crock.
Texas have been pretty much open all this time so, I don't think there will be an increase in deaths.
Texas hasn't really been closed down in months so I doubt it.
I'm terribly curious, though. There was a mask mandate. I'm sure there won't be drop deads everywhere. But on the radio I heard someone in Austin bemoaning this decision. A medical doctor. He was worried about such a move because it comes LONG before there is anything near "herd immunity." The reporter said 6 percent of Texans have been innoculated. SIX!!! In my state it's 15 percent and we've in modified phase 2!
I understand the impetus behind it: get businesses rolling. Movie theatres are opening with 33 percent capacity, but masks are required inside, at least in MY little, backward state... (Lousyana) Churches have no max crowd size. Bars are reopened at 50%, 11 pm close times. 75% capacity restaurants.
I don't see how THOSE levels are horrible!
And you know, I went to my fave small pizza joint and saw that they didn't have new tables. The owner, a progressive guy said he wasn't adding any new tables because he couldn't keep safe spaces between them. And he's doing WELL ENOUGH!

Infections do not "explode" after mask mandates are in place - they decrease. That label on the box is there for legal reasons, not medical. The people that make the masks do not want to be sued if the person wearing one catches Covid anyway.
I honestly do not give a fuck if you get Covid and die. All I care about is that you do not infect anyone else with your stupidity or with Covid.

The infections EXPLODED after the masks were mandated in the fall, and lasted until people finally got sick of wearing the damn things. You're probably a mask toucher super spreader.

@ftewolde lifting restrictions does NOT equal more deaths, it equals LESS deaths, and take a look at the poll. The divergence was worse when I commented but still you can see that women are more trusting of so called 'officials' than men are. This is a big, big problem.
If women didn’t have the right to vote, there would be transgenderism, fake racism, illegal aliens flooding our borders, and democrats would never win the congress or the presidency again. Women and their feelings have caused men to stop using their brains to solve problems
