I always think of how good I feel AFTER I exercise and how many MORE calories my body is burning afterward too. Your body burns extra calories for six hours after you exercise. That add up.
And Dizz.. it's not about how you looked some time ago. Maybe those goals were unrealistic. I once weighed 25-30 pounds less than my ideal weight. Though I looked modelesque, I WAS starving: eating carrots and celery and soups with no nutrition at all. I have lots of muscle and I'm always heavier than other women my height. But I'm also strong. And muscle is tighter than fat. I always look slimmer than my weight too. So, I can eat real meals, do loads of physical work and exercise, and look good in my clothes.
Have a goal to look and FEEL good, not like some model or somebody else who ISN'T YOU! Eat good food that fills you up. You shouldn't be starving and craving junk. Are you eating enough protein? Have you seen a nutritionist? Get help if you continue to feel this way. A balanced diet means you're NOT hungry or craving junk.
I do eat a balanced diet. I only crave junk when others eat it in front of me lol. And i loved how i looked back then but i still wasn't the number in the scale i wanted to be
Ask your friends not to eat junk in front of you! As I said, perhaps your goals were unrealistic. You have to be able to easily MAINTAIN your weight. If you're starving, this means you cannot do so. I couldn't maintain that 15 year old weight either. But when I look at pictures of myself 20 lbs heavier, I look amazingly SLIM! What was I thinking!!!
The needle on the scale is not the sole arbiter. How your clothes fit, your percentage of body fat and how easily you can maintain your weight are equally important. You should ALSO be able to eat some junk when you really want to. A diet should never be about constant denial. It is doomed to fail if that's true.
I loved my shape age 21 and under. And yea i eat what i want Fri-Sun. But my fam eats what they want everyday so its hard not to want what theyre having
Do mini extinguishing program. If they're eating what they want and you're tempted, take a walk for a half hour. Or a bike ride. Remove yourself from the temptation. Everybody's BODY is different. Some people can eat what they want, others cannot. If after you've taken the walk, bike ride or played Call of Duty 4 and you still want some junk, then have it. But have less of it than you'd planned to. There. You get some satisfaction and you've exercised before you had your treat.
Try to do this every time you're tempted. Sometimes have the junk. Other times don't. Don't just make it I'll eat junk three days out of seven. That seems excessive and counterintuitive. Substitute sweet treats like apples and oranges, yogurt, sherbert. Strawberries, blueberries, bananas with a shot of light whipped cream. Those berries are all fresh this time of year. You can make sugared compotes of them and freeze some to eat later. These are just ideas. There's likely stuff you like more than what I'm suggesting that you can adapt to your likes. DO THAT! Circumvents the junk desires if you have your own healthier desserts waiting for you.
Great tips
Learned them from smoking cessation people!!! I thought the mini extinguishes were genius!!! WOrk for ANYTHING. Stuff you want to stop... stuff you want to start...
Girl you gotta eat dont starve yourself!! Eat slower our bodys take 20 mins to tell us were full.. don't eat after 8pm the food doesn't get worked off while we are awake...
Now for my body its been better had a 4 pack once.. its also been worse.. I don't have rolls anymore.. im lean just trying to get defined.. always loved going to the gym now with covid lock down they are all closed.. so I started doing squats, sit ups, push ups, burpies and planks now im lean just want to be defined again.. but need weights for that ill purchase them at some point ill be happy when I can flex abd feel the muscle again before I didn't have to flex you could just see 4 and if I flexed you could see all 6.. ill do better than before.. listen to your body dont feel guilty for not pushing yourself its also important to rest too and drink lots of water and eat protein.
I definitely eat lol. I just dont eat junk food on week days anymore. Only on weekends and i miss it. Wow you gave great advice tho
Stay away from processed food its garbage. Thanks for the compliment... I try :)
Thats my weakness lol
Okay well try and googling the ingredients in it.. might change your mind when you figure out what your actually putting in your body...
Its your weakness cause your addicted probably to message.. so could say your buying one more box when its gone its gone no more.. and instead of eating a whole boughten cookie eat a half.. its better to make your own cookies no preservatives in them.. go there's go arounds too ;)
Yea i dont eat cookies due to toothaches. Burgers, fries, nachos and icees are my weakness
You could make your own pattys with just red meat, breadcrumbs or oats and eggs they are sooo much better than boughten burgers, also I love potatos!! Nachos yummy! I eat all those! Whats icees? Ice cubes? They are just water.
Icees is a frozen soda beverage
Ohh so like frozen pop? Interesting
Looks like an ice coffee haha but cool
But its coca cola lol
Nice
It's TERRIBLE to make your own cookes... You make dozens and dozens!! and Eat them ALL!!! MY GOD, you're awful...
Kidding. I've been dying to make peanut butter cookies. Good ones are almost impossible to find. Nutter Butter are good. But half the stores in my town don't carry them. And they're kind of too sweet. I want more peanut buttery. Homemade solve that problem. And what is the deal with chocolate chips in every darned thing!!! You know what other kind of cookie is great. A plain old buttery crumbly sugar cookie with icing! I pay a fortune for those at this one bakery only accessible by car and since my car is gone. No more. Or at whole foods which has such a spotty supply... Used to be this one maker from Cali that made excellent ones! Great poured icing. You can see I'm sadly addicted.
BUT, if you exercise to get defined and to eat, this is fabooo!!! Vanity vanity!!!
When I get home from a field trip Sunday, I'm going to look up sugar cookie recipes. I think it's a delicate skill. Crumbly and sweet and that royal icing! Impossible!!!
My favorite cookie is a trail mix cookie.. I say my biggest weakness is banana nut muffins

I don't know lol, I mean I'me quite content with the way I look, as I've been training for years, but like I've heard someone else say, you're never satisfied with your body for long, you can set a body goal, achieve it and before you know it, you've set a new one and you're somewhat unsatisfied until you achieve that one, it's never ending.
Ultimately, I'm quite happy with what I look like, but like the above, I want to be leaner and bigger, because I'm slim, about 159cm, 114lbs, with a toned out physique and whilst I'm happy with how different I look aesthetically, then above still kind of applies, even though I never really had a specific body goal in mind, because ultimately, I want to look noticeably big for my size, without being too big,.
Even if you're slim and not noticeably muscular and you're wearing something that fits, it's what I call a 'positive surprise', like imagine a skinny guy wearing a jacket, who then takes it off, showing off a defined physique, which many would view as attractive, especially when you may not have expected that and compare that to a guy who looks big, does the same, only to reveal that it's not that defined and more fat, that's more of a 'negative surprise' - a bit of a weird example, but I think you get what I mean.
Ultimately, I'd say I'm happy or have reached my goal, due to that, because I like having the 'positive surprise', because I'm not noticeably big, but I think being really short contributes to that, like I could be reasonably muscular for my height, but if everyone else is a lot taller, then I simply won't look as big, due to something I call a 'water bottle' analogy, yeah, I love my analogy's, so here goes:
Let's just say we're all water bottles and when you're noticeably big (muscular), that's the equivalent of being more full with liquid. Now, we're all different and have different capacities, which is the equivalent of being taller, so greater height, greater capacity. If every bottle in the world is 50% full, then we're all equally as big for our respective heights, but everyone's capacity is also different, so if I've got a 500ml capacity and someone else has got a 2l capacity, then they're going to be much more noticeably big for their size, despite us both being 50% full. Even if I were to reach 75% full and they stayed the same, they'd look bigger, due to actually having more liquid inside them, so like a short, noticeably muscular guy's arms, may not be as big as a much taller, but slim muscular guy's arm's, it's just the way it works.
Yep some of us are never satisfied
Motivation is all in the mind and how you want to achieve it , it’s easier said then done , but it comes down to how dedicated you make yourself to be , me personally is probably the worst person to take fitness advice from considering I am like a yo-yo exerciser , considering I can’t stick with it all year round , I used to be able to when I was younger but as I got older my motivation has died and then I feel like I really don’t give a shit , especially during this pandemic I pretty much threw in the towel and just exercise when I feel like it’s convenient for me , , which I do kick myself in the ass for but that’s just the way I am , I can’t focus my mind into forcing myself to exercise much anymore , when I feel the urge
To do so I just say fuck it , lol so maybe one of these days I will really
Get back into it. Just now I really don’t have the motivation much on top of that I have sharp pain at times in my right leg that I need to go to the doctor to get checked out so that’s a motivation kicker as well dealing with pain , it sucks
You got this
When it becomes a part of your life you do not skip it. Make a workout that fits with you. I do intense workouts every other day so I can recover on the rest days. Getting rid of junk food is harder than working out. What I do is whenever I'm about to eat anything I think and observe whether this is good for me ot not. Once in a while is fine, but make sure you don't make ir regular. Also it takes dedication and persistence to get thafvshredded body you dream of. Not a day, not a week, not a month. When it becomes a regular part of you it will show. I was very fat but then I made working out a part of my routine and within a year or two slowly it was starting to show (ofc I'm not shredded yet) but that regualr checklist to get it done is important and eat healthy, drink lots of water. I also track my macros. When I workout I become disciplined, when I become disciplined slowly results show (it will take time. But did you know that if you get 1% better every day by the end of the year you become 37% better than you were. Don't count the days, make the days count. ) and when results show my self esteem increases, when that increases I cut down things that hurt me in and out
Whenever i eat junk, i try to exercise immediately to work it off haha
The opposite is a waste of exercise lol
Yea I’ve reached my fitness goal.
Dieting is tough which is why I haven’t been on one in years. I use to feel like I was starving too then end up overeating lol smh. But anyway, have u tried to just do smaller portion size of whatever you want to eat? Plus not eating pass 8pm? That works so much better for me.
How do I stay motivated? I actually like exercising. I don’t see it as like a burden lol Plus I want to look sexy in my bikini & other outfits lol Maybe u can try to do things you’re naturally in to as a form of exercise? Like, dance workouts, kickboxing, yoga, going for long walks, swimming, riding a bike etc. Don’t beat yourself up if u miss a workout. It happens. Just get right back on track. That’s what matters.
My main issue is eating after 8. With my work shift thats just around when i have dinner. And if i eat before 7 im starving
Well our lovely prime minister decided to shut the gym for six months so now I can barely lift anything over 10kg lol. So to answer your question, no I haven’t reached my body fitness goals at all.
Im working hard and actually went to the gym today! It took everything in me but what motivates me is the anger I have built up inside me. I’ve been going through a lot and the only good thing that’s come out of it, besides realising my worth, is this passion for lifting weights and giving myself the strong and lean body I’ve always wanted.
Our gyms have been open since mid last year but im just not comfortable goin to one rn
I workout a lot, 10 pounds comes and goes and it's not a problem. How do i stay motivated? I have diabetes and genetic obesity plus high blood pressure, so i have to keep on moving, i need to be in good health physically and mentally so i can be there for my loved ones when they need me, no back problems, no overweight, no excuses. My brother have the same problem as me, diabetic and genetic obesity and he does nothing about, he is overweight, out of breath all the time, don't have the energy to do things, i can't count on him when i need help so that triggers me to do me and i try to help him with it bit he just not into working out. I remind my self! Did i like it when i was overweight and fat? Did i feel good like i do now? If i let go, it won't take long to get fat again, why give up after all these acomplishments? Made it a habit of my daily routine and i am happy about it, for me and my loved ones 😁
Sounds amazing. My side pain near the kidney motivated me to put down the sodas and workout again
Try to make fresh juice or buy a soda stream and bubble your water, it will take time till you get used to it. Last time i drank an energy drink was back in 2011, soft drinks back in 2014. To break a habit! Replace it with another habit. I spoil my self with a beer every 2 weeks, or maybe a glass of wine, on special occasions i break few rules and eat some sweets, and i don't miss any of them. I will do a (my take) soon on our garden, stay tunned
I only drink tea and cranberry juice and water now.
No I haven't met it yet, want more muscle, not full body builder or anything but if i could look the way i do when flexing, without flexing that would be good, and of course loos more fat, need to lose the fupa and a little smaller gut would be nice. Rn my body fat percentage is 28.5 gotta get it down to 24 cause that's the high end of average and just see what we look like at that point.
Motivation is slacking a bit, my motivating factor was depression and hating my horrible body, now I dont hate it, I'm not depressed so I'm not very motivated, need to find a new motivator other than depression.
Whats fupa?
I used to be a fat kid. I could not do even 1 push up and forget about running. I was no good at sports.
I got into weight training in 9th grade. I was 14 and it was 1985 when lifting weights was not the mainstream activity it is today.
I joined a gym in the next town so that nobody I knew would see me.
I got really good results. A few older guys at the gym helped me train and in my junior year the football coach asked me to go out for the team.
The memory of being that fat kid keeps me motivated to get out of bed at 5AM and drag myself to the gym. I always feel better afterwards.
Yea i had an amazinf shape from 12-21. But it majorly declined at 24. Tryna get it back
I used to be 175-180lbs. Then 3 years ago in the space of 3 months I lost the majority of it. Now I'm a 135lbs. My goal weight 125, but honestly I'm happy with where I'm at. It's not perfect but I'm happy with it and I think that's what counts the most.
I mean I still have my problem area, but meh. It's whatever. I love it, the boyfriend loves it. All 8s right in the world.
I drank a lot more water and cut out my sugar. Not entirely but cut down. I also walk to work but his time u took the long way
Yea i been tryna reach 125 forever. I was last 135 in HS lmao. But yea i do drink more water and i started eating fruit daily. I cut out lots of sugar but salt is prob part of my prob
If you want good health a nice looking body then you clearly know you have the exercise. If you keep stopping over and over again, you clearly didn't want it. You need to discipline yourself enough to just at least get up and do a few squats push-ups crunches leg raises whatever just to get moving. It takes less than 5 minutes to do a simple workout, but it takes longer to get up go to the store get junk food or drive to McDonald's to get fast food then you get back home sit down stuff your face and talk about oh I'm going to work out again tomorrow. Either you do it or you don't and that'll make the difference on your health and body.
Ain't nothing to it but to do it
Yea and i exercise at least 3-4 days a week but i miss my 5-6 days. And i dont mean fast food. Im talkin junk food around the house like chips and stuff
I have not yet reached my fitness goals. But I have seen some progress, such as growing 3 inches on my glutes and toning up my legs and arms. What motivates me to continue working out is how it makes me feel. I love the rush it gives me afterwards and I enjoy getting stronger each and every day. I only do 30 - 60 min workouts so on days when I’m not motivated I tell myself it’s not that long and that it has to be done. It’s a routine at this point. My favorite workouts are strength training and I actually came across Sydney Cummings workouts on YouTube. Her workouts are hella fun and did not make me miss the gym during covid. I even cancelled my gym membership bc I stopped going since doing her workouts. Highly recommend lol.
Yea i can feel my thighs getting heavier from building muscle
Well, I guess I reached a stage of my body fitness goal.. I still wanna get bigger, and lift more mainly in the Bench Press.. At least I hit 100 pushups in one sitting.. So that's a good goal I know I accomplished.. 😅
Wow amazing!! Nice arms. Last time i did 75 situps in one sitting was 2017. I pulled something and the doc made me stop working out for almost ayear because i was basically paralyzed in a bent over position. Mind you, i did those 75 in less than 5 mins without stopping. Never again. Next time i’d space it out
Its because i hadn't stretched before exercising since HS 🤣 i never knew how important stretching was. I just started this year. Also what weight lifting did u do to get that toning. I wanna try some but i dont wanna be buff like a dude
LOL.. Yeah, stretching gets the work done.. 😌👉.. But that's good Desii.. And, well just the normal lifting, I lift pretty heavy, but I try not to eat over 2400 calories, and I do cardio everyday.. 😅.. But you wouldn't have anything to worry about.. Unless you are lifting heavy, and juicing up you wouldn't get big like a man.. 😂😂
Quality orgasms and the overall improvement on my health making me feel great and energetic for the first time since I was a kid except now older and getting sexually enthralled. To look and function as good as I can for my future partner is also a drive. Wanna impress yourself first though is how I look at it. Found a list of supplements that if taken the correct way like doubles or tripples the amounts of man sauce produced by the manchinery. Also helps just run the body better in a lot of areas. I don't know that's all usually enough to get me going. But need to do more than what I have been. Food's definitely the struggle. Ruins everything and real quick like.
Yea i try to eat natural stuff like fruits and veggies. I wouldn't trust supplements and stuff due to side effects. But yea i definitely miss impressing myself in the mirror
Well I think you're extremely impressive. You're getting her done. You won't be able to stop looking, might turn yourself gay you're gonna be too damn sexy. Be careful.
I'll make sure my body reacts well before I use them pills, you right.
Lmao i ain't never goin gay. But yea i’ll admire myself again
Im carrying around 30 extra pounds right now. No where near where I've been in the past. But I see exercise as more part of your life then a chore. Im trying to get back to the point where running is fun, that the gym is hood me time. And no its not easy.
Yea same
No push needed. My body craves workouts and I enjoy it. I'm constantly improving and changing so I always set the bar pretty high. At the moment i am enjoying switching up all the different activities. Martial arts, crossfit, yoga, pilates & outdoor activities before it's super cold. I enjoy functional fitness, acrobatics/gymnastics & aerial yoga... some weeks I only do gym training and different types of dance.
I wanna do more swimming exercises
The pandemic really killed my motivation. I'm a routine person so my gym days and workouts were apart of my everyday routine. I'm getting back on track with scheduling times to workout. And now I look at pictures of myself from a year or 2 ago and that's the motivation I use to get back to that.
Yea i look at my old pics and they make me smile but i still wasn't exactly where i wanted to be so i have to admire oics like above. I want that flat toned tummy. My tummy back then was flat but never toned. Arms either
Yeah I have body goal pics from other people, but I currently look at my own because it lets me know that I CAN be the size that I want to be because I did it before.
No I have not. I have a long way to go. I have the same pair of jeans in five different sizes. The ones that are still too small I keep hung on a hanger on a wall where I can see them. Every once in a while I get to take a pair off the wall. I have two still on the wall. One I wear and the other two are tucked away to remind me what not to do. I keep a scales on the floor in front of the refrigerator. I never open the door of the fridge without knowing my weight that day.
Im afraid to get a scale because i look slimmer but the scale may say otherwise
Keep in mind that muscles weigh more than fat so two people of the same weight, one has muscle and the other has fat the one with the muscle will look smaller.
Uhm I love my body right now but like I got thicker and less trained 😂
I had my dream fitness body like in 2017-2019 and well I just kinda stopped.. like I'm still active and do sports but not the way I used to
Plus to your other question well I stayed "motivated" cause it was just such a big part of my life and identity that there was no room for not working out.. it was just a routine that I used to be in
Yea i had my dream bod 2017 and under. 2018-19 was doable cause i still worked out. 2020 was a dang shame lol
Yeaaah right, I mean all the gyms shut down too and still the gyms are closed here
Short of hiring a professional fitness instructor, I'm pretty close to my max prefered fitness level. I don't have washboard abbs, but that would take less than two weeks watching what I eat without changing my workouts.
I bicycle regularly, and spend a lot of time gardening. Im 6'2" 220 lbs with very little excess body fat.
Im glad you feel better about yourself :)
Yeah I got to 245 with less muscle than I have now, I didn't like being that heavy as I like to be active and I felt tired all the time, but I lost the weight ten years ago and have been at my current weight ever since.
To be perfectly honest I set out a fitness goal last year, however sadly I never got a chance to actually work on it consistently due to unforeseen circumstances from covid. I would really like to get back at it as soon as I can, I have a 24-hour gym membership too. Just waiting for the right opportunity to get my life back in track. :)
Yea covid hit us all
