I think most victims struggle a lot... there is no going back... Back to being normal or when you were at your stable best... It takes years for some people to get back on track... Forget the career... Just for being normal healthy...
How we're going to fight this battle with psychological illness... The no.. of victims are increasing every sec every min...

You're no longer the same person after depression and anxiety?
I absolutely relate to this, I had kinda crippling anxiety for about 2 years. My freshman year of high school it was depression, I felt like I had no one to talk to, no real friends, and my parents were always fighting over my dads alcoholism, and my mom was always working 12 hrs and I wouldn’t see her for days. I also moved 2 hrs away that year from my “friends” and family. My remaining HS years were filled with anxiety, having at least 5 panic attacks a day. I would either not go into school and cry in bed fearing I was losing my mind, or hide in the bathroom at school and cry. My biggest issue was derealization, my left felt like a dream, like I wasn’t connected to anything or anyone. Unfortunately it still lingers with me.
Yes. Just like once you had wings and then your wings got amputated by force, you crash into depression. You'll never fly again. You're grounded. That's how depression changes a person.
Squidward from the TV show Spongebob series is the most relatable character across most episodes making statements, that reflect life and our aspect to it. It's no wonder, he's been depressed too.
How we're going to fight this battle with psychological illness? By getting a consultation session with a professional psychotherapist and get on meds. Forget what the other dumbskulls say about "lifting and eating salads and talking about it". Depression isn't going away just like you won't grow back your wings. Don't play a hero, get to swallow some pills if you want effective results. I am doing that myself. Heroes get wounded and grounded too.
it got a LOT better for me, infinitely better... but it was something I worked on and fought for at least 10 long years of my life (and then I have to keep it on check for the rest of my life)
these things are never gone entirely, that's also very true, but for the most part it got a lot better, if lucky, you just adjust and learn to deal with things in a much better way
of course, it goes very differently for anyone else, some will have much more harder and way more challenging
Yes. This is very relatable. I had a life changing panic attack 3 years ago and I have not been the same since. This is my new normal now. I am glad to finally have the diagnoses of Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Depression as they are now under control with medication. The hardest pill to swallow was looking back on my entire life and realizing I’d had this as long as I can remember and the weird/quirky seemingly unconnected things about my personality are actually my anxiety disorder. I had a hard time accepting that.
After a traumatic enough of an event, or series of events. No. A person will never, ever be the same again. A person has to reach a point where they no longer want to feel that way anymore, realize they can have a healthier mindset, then start and find their ‘new you’. It will be a new you. If anyone is struggling, reach out for help with a local professional. Feeling better has no shame.

I've less empathy for most people now. My selfless side is destroyed. Because I've had bad experiences with humans. They lie, manipulate, use you, envy you and even ignore you once they got what they wanted. I hate people now. I can't love anymore now. I'll get bored after few months of dating and will get tempted to cheat and start disrespecting them if they don't return my affections.
Not really anymore because I don't see karma working. No body sincerely loved me except my grandmother and she passed away. I'm struggling to find ideal partner or even a bestie whom I can talk whenever I want to. I see world being unfair, corrupted ones are thriving. Lies are more appreciated than truth.
You're not... infact You are Very much like me.. I used feel the same sometimes still do... and I am a Buddhist I don't give a damn about God either but I also wonder if God is there then how dlfeels about the world and all living beings... Once my late father said god can change things create things even end things. But he's not doing anything.. why? That is the question.. isn't it? Out of all the population let's say 99.99% are bad! God/nature knows this he can end things just like that... but leting things go for that 0.01% population.. I believe in it... he's not letting will not the innocents suffer... if you don't believe in god... then believe in yourself.. everything will be alright. 🙂
I wouldn't say that your no longer the same person. That might just be reinforcing a negative belief and continuing down the same path but it does take a lot of self reflecting and work. Im still working on things but i dont think it will define me forever
