When brushing your teeth and rinsing your mouth out, do you use a glass or your hand?

My sister cups her hand and drinks from it under the faucet. I do too as it saves just one more dirty glass and it is actually convenient. Think of it as washing your hands at the same time.

if you have a cup sitting on your bathroom vanity for such tasks, it already has bacteria on it. Whenever you flush your toilet bacteria floats around the room and gets on your counters. It would be better to wash your hands and then use your hand. It will be cleaner than a glass sitting on the vanity.

I must live a life much different from the average Gagger. Bacteria floating around the bathroom from flushing the toilet? In my master bath the toilet is nowhere near the sink that I use for brushing my teeth. In fact, the toilet is inside its own room: I opened the door to the toilet, which is normally closed (whether in use or not), for this photo.

Even so, why keep a toothbrush on the sink 23-3/4 hours a day? My toothbrush is inside the center drawer with the toothpaste, dental floss and other items.

Rinse? If you look closely at the tissue box between the two sinks, you can see a stack of small paper cups. Fill the cup with water, rinse mouth and toss cup into the trash can, which is barely visible between the cabinets.

Some of us don't have huge bathrooms with separate potty stalls. But ours are also easier to clean since they are smaller.

I do this too. I didn't even realize I did this until you brought it up. I am thinking "how else would you do it?" Use a dirty cup that just sits there everyday? People do that?

I always brush my teeth after washing my face and my hands, so I usually just use my clean hands to rinse. I think it’s convenient lol

My cup about 75% of the time, hands about 25%, overall.
( I am more likely to use my hands when in the shower and I just get thirsty. )

Yeah I just use my hand, or drink directly from the stream of water, I have a very tall bathroom tap so there is a long stream of water.

I use a cup I keep in the vanity drawer, that I fill with alcohol based mouthwash such as Listerine.

Have a class in the bathroom that you use for rinsing, and rinse it when done. Or use paper cups.

Rinsing the cup out before rinsing your mouth would get rid of the bacteria just as much as if you use your hand after rinsing your hand.

A glass. Not all bacteria are harmful. Also rinsing the glass first works.

When you flush a toilet after a #2, minute fecal matter/bacteria floats around the room. Who wants to drink out of a cup that sits on the counter? Also think of that toothbrush you got there too.

you can always get one of those UV sterilizers if it bothers you that much. However even food has bacteria - maybe stop eating as well?

Also, closing the toilet lid before you flush it helps too.

Some of the bacteria in food is good, such as yeast. People have more bacteria in their mouths than dogs, and dogs lick their privates. Hmmm, come to think of it, a lot of people lick each other's privates too.

Sometimes I think those things are gimmicks. I got one of those UV light thingys in my spa but I still have to use chorine to sanitize it or it starts stinking after a month.
