There are many useless vitamin supplements out there. But if you get the right ones, they can change your life, and even 'turn back the clock'. I supplement with camu camu powder, yeast flakes, vitamin D and magnesium. Check out this interesting little study:
https://www.theepochtimes.com/vitamin-d-supplementation-is-effective-in-preventing-covid-19-study-suggests_4427803.html
'The authors found the risk of contracting COVID-19 was “lower in the [vitamin D group] than in the [placebo group] … and was associated with an increment in serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 … independently of [vitamin D] efficiency.”'
'The authors concluded that supplementation with vitamin D in highly exposed individuals “decreases the susceptibility for SARS-CoV-2 infection,” and the preventive effect is “independent of vitamin D status.”'
'“To our knowledge, this is the first controlled study evaluating the role of [Vitamin D] supplementation as a prophylactic measure to prevent SARS-Cov-2 infection and therefore has profound clinical and public health implications,” the researchers also noted.'
When Corona hit, I instinctively reached for my Vit D drops. Then afterwards, all this news hit the mainstream. Really, I stay with my spirulina.
I take a few and I notice a very big difference in how I feel both physically and mentally. I take Super B Complex, Zinc, Vitamin C, a Multi vitamin, and something called Glucosamine for my joints. I take them spread out at certain times of the day and I feel much more sluggish and tired as well as sore when I stop taking them. But you need to be sure to go with good brands. I get ones with no filler ingredients.
Yes! Glucosamine is amazing. It took me awahile to find a good one but it has relly helped.
My work is very physically demanding. The glucosamine and B complex help tremendously.
So glad to hear it!
When I was a kid I never took any as you get most from a health diet anyway but since I. Started bodybuilding I get my blood work done every 6 months or so and take the essentials my body needs (more Or less depending on the test results.)
But currently I take:
- vid D (where I live not much sunglight)
- Calcium (don’t get enough from my diet)
-iron (need plenty of that and most women are deficient especially during monthly cycle time)
- vitamin B complex for fatigue
- glucosamine for joints as I’m lifting heavy a lot
As for other sports supplements only protein powder that’s about it. Rest is a waste of money tbh
How are you taking your calcium? It needs magnesium as a carrier mineral to deliver it to your body as needed.
I mean the calcium tablet has magnesium in it but it’s an all in one tablet sorry forgot to mention
It's good as long as you are getting the right kinds. There are vitamins out there that have things in them that you don't need or don't have the right things or don't have enough of the things you need. Also there are special vitamins you should look for and only buy from vs other vitamins that are not good and you should never take. I took a nutrition class in college and learned a ton of stuff.

Yes - Senior Multi w/ minerals- Vit C chewie- Vit E capsule- Vit D capsule (s) - Calcium... Flaxseed oil capsule and Magnesium (at night).
My wife does high quality supplements like the ones in the photo, not just single multivitamins. She makes them up for me and puts them in one of those little 7 day boxes that people use when they have to take medications on schedule. I take them every morning.
I'm a big believer in supplements. We don't get enough vitamin D from sunlight and commercially grown produce is deficient because the soil it is grown in is dead. It's sterile of nutrients that crops are supposed to take up. And commercial fertilizers don't contain essential minerals and nutrients that plants need to be healthy.
Here here!
I am really really bad at taking any…I would rather eat real foods.
I have been the same my whole life…and hate going to the doctors every year for annual check up… it’s the same test results…
I didn’t even take any for my prenatal and they all yelled at me…my kids came out fine and eat real foods… a well balanced diet.
the only diff. with my body has been the last yr or so I gained like 5 pounds… and can’t fit in my old skinny jeans…
I still eat the same foods… just haven’t been as active so I gained some weight…otherwise…I am good with all natural balance diet. I really don’t like meds/pills/vitamins…
I also have so much energy that I sometimes don’t know what to do with.. and drive my kids crazy for being so active and silly for my age… sigh …
I know a lot of people that take supplements and seem better for it. We only take a women’s daily and men’s daily multivitamin. We’ve been doing it for years so I’m not really sure what would happen if we stopped. My husband is pretty adamant about eating foods rich in the various vitamins and nutrients we need because he likes the idea of metabolizing foods versus vitamins. He feels like that process helps maintain his gut health.
I don’t think too deeply about it, I just focus on eating healthier foods and staying hydrated
If you have a good diet and you get plenty of sunshine you don't need vitamin supplements. However it won't do you any harm to take them as directed.
If like many of us you have a poor diet and get little direct sunlight you might benefit from taking a regular vitamin supplement.
Full disclosure: Yes I do take them.
The thing is the food is really compromised.
Only ever taken pregancy vitamins and hate them so much. Made me soo sick from all the iron. I'm suppose to still be taking them since I'm breastfeeding but I only take them maybe twice a month
Focus on food for breastfeeding
Yes they are actually very essential especially for those who struggle with diet because of eating disorders or similar.
I take Magnesium + Calcium + Vitamin D right in the morning before breakfast for maximum effect. I work out 4-5 times a week. It's useful for muscle repair and growth and other functions. The sun doesn't always shine for the D Vitamin.
But it depends on your daily routine. I'd recommend you Vitamin C to enhance the immune system
Yes, that what I use Vit C and spirulina for. It's in my question details. I take glucosamine hydrochloride (the sulfate makes me itch so bad) for my joints since child bearing left my hips a little beat up and some old ankle injuries.
I sometimes skip reading texts in general😆
Yes, we are all guilty of that.
Ohh yea we are soooo rude aren't we?😌
I've been taking this Moringa supplement for about 4 years now. It is supposed to help people w/seizures and also aid in weight loss. For about 3 mos I've been taking a ginger supplement now too. That's also supposed to help people w/seizures. I'm also anemic so I take folic acid. I think my anemia is getting worse but I dk wut else to do.
Inhad really bad hemeglovong issies after a ver bad miscarriage. I ate a a lot of iron rich FOODS and made sure I would take them with Vitamiv C or foods rich in vitamin C. Like smoothies with spinach and orange juice. Adzuki beans. Also B12 helps to get your hemeglobin up. Iron supplements are mostly useless.
Y don't these Dr's tell me this? I had 1 stillbirth and 1 miscarriage. I've had anemia for about 15 years but they don't say anything cept give me an Rx for folic acid n do blood tests. I look online at my blood tests and bc of the seizure meds I taken for almost 20 years my kidneys r getting bad but the Dr's don't say anything! Wut do u take for kidneys? I bought this blender n heard that beets help u out? Beets, apples, and an orange?
I haven't had anything to cause me concern for my kidneys so I don't know.
Only take B12, as i am a vegietarian and i don't get it through my regular diet.
Whenever you can, get the vitamins through your regular diet. Espacially as the supplements are incredible over the top, usually one pill is enough to last for about 8 years, thats how highly concentrated it is, and you also get additional vitamins through your diet as well. So its just a waste of money.
One pill is good for 8 years? Plesse elaborate.
One pill usually contain somewhere between 2000x ~ 10.000x as much as you need per day.
So the amount would last a really long time, but you can't store vitamins so ~90% of the dosis just ends up in your pee.
I always am curious about supplements especially a GNC right around the corner from me. I did and am still researching much more but they're selling bromelian which is found in pineapples. Why buy that supplement when you can buy or grow fresh pineapples.
Well who is growing pineapples? Also I wouldn't shop at GNC. And that would be a funny supplement to take. Yes, I do and actually had pineapple today!
@DermalPunch I have an uncle who basically cut the top off of the pineapple right away and put it in a jar of water. A couple weeks later roots showed up underneath and then he planted it in a large pot. I know not many do it, but I have seen it done AND it did grow within a matter of 4 to 5 months with another pineapple.
I know about this propagation but did he ever actually get a real pineapple out of it?
Yes he did. It can be done.
I will have to try that then.
Yes try it this summer!
I take supplements because I'm a vegan and there are nutrients like B12 which I can't get on a plant based diet so I take B12, D3 K and omega 3 supplements.
B12 Muy importante!
Exactly. The food is so compromised.
Go to life extension they are the best fuck GNC Vitamin Shoppe the both assholes life extension go get it Anyway I take NAC and phage therapy probiotic it's a pill was as a little pill so the stomach attacks a big pill delivering the smaller probiotic pill to your lower intestine delivery the load unscaved unbelievable
I take Ginger capsules only when I feel a bit sick because I can catch a cold easily. Sometimes I eat it in damp or cools weather when I doubt I'm going to catch a cold and to prevent it. It really works well.
Only if you have been testing for what you are lacking. I’ve friends who became ill taking multi vitamins.
Yes, you have to careful. I took Black Seed supplements after a miscarriage and I landed in the hospital hemorrhaging. I nearly died and needed a blood transfusion!
I think they can help. Fish oil supplements help my skin and I tried a few supplements to increase my ejaculation volume which worked really well.
It's just kind of a pain taking them all the time.
I take hair skin nails vitamins and a gut health probiotic to help with my stomach issues. They work wonderfully
Calcium/ D/ manganese/ manyasium supplement
Omega 3
Fefol
Nurobium
Colagean
Fefol?
Nurobium?
New to me. What do you take them for?
Fefol is an iron supplement
neurobion contains a combination of b vitamins
Thanks! I like to get my iron via food with Bitamin C as a carrier. Bs for any heme issues.
I take Fefol once a month
Once every three months, I take an neuro ion injection, it boosts metabolism and help me weight loss
I think for woman, collagen supplements is very important. The supplement I take has also co q10 which is also important
I used to take medicinal mushrooms like lions mane which is supposed to improve sleep and it worked.
I have a bunch at home but I always forget to take them lol
They are mostly useless. If you are already having a well-balanced meal then they are a waste of money. However, you can take one multivitamin per day and that's more than enough. The body only processes one at a very limited amount and sent the rest for pee. If you get a deficiency of a particular one, your body will show particular signs. Too much nonsense is there for the public as they skip basic biology classes in high school.
They being highly processed food products, I do not take them.
Yes, many of them are lab products full of rice powder and corn. There are food based ones that are minimally processed.
I would be sure to check them!
Well, yes that goes without saying.
Yes I take animal pack from t yes I take animal pack from the vitamin Shoppe
I take zinc, vitamin D3, and Vitamin A supplements. I get most of what I need from my food, it helps to fill in those gaps
Studies have suggested vitamin supplements are a complete waste of time and money
I knew you would say that. The way most people take them are a waste.
Firstly, people take crap vitamins. Also, they take too many unnecessary ones. You have to actually study the label. The ingredients make sure they aren't just fillers. The balance of the vitamins in it. What to take on empty and what to take after meals.
Also, the spacing of the dosage. I've been taking supplements for basically my whole life and there is a marked difference in how I feel depending on my intake. The issue too is that the food is so messed up these days we need assistance. They did a study in Europe and found herbicides in people's urine!
Supplements have worked for me for both daily and serious issues that nearly killed me. Sticking to my supps thank you very much!
What studies?
Waste of time in my opinion. Just eat right and take a good vitamin.
You do realise that a vitamin is supplement.
Yes, I am referring to using lots of supplements besides just a one a day vitamin.
Just a multi vitamin everyday
i take some when im going to fast for a day or 2
Super beets. D3, C and a few others
Vitamin D i take for bones
Its expensive. I am poor.
I don't disagree but the face goes with how I feel. Beetter days are ahead..
used to not anymore
