Good exercises to train core and flatten your gut?

My progress is quite good overall at the gym but I feel like I have a large gut area and here progress seems slow, especially with stubborn fat on the sides and I need further tips on how to train it. I'll include a couple of pics in case my gut area being big happens to just be in my head or if anyone wanna confirm that it is. As of now I ocassionally run as well as do sit ups and a few leg raises for the stomach area.
