Girls, Have you experienced the McClintock effect (aka Menstrual Synchrony)?

Ladies, how many of you have experienced the McClintock effect (aka Menstrual Synchrony), described in this Wikipedia article?

In a group of women, their periods tend to synchronize over time so that they all have their periods at about the same time, it's called the McClintock effect. Supposedly, that's Mother Nature's why of creating competition, so that a woman getting pregnant has the same chances as the other women in her group. If you're part of a regular group of women, you all might start having periods at the same time.

That was a chance occurrence and has never been repeated. If it were true we'd see it in woman's prisons everywhere.
Biologically it makes no sense because men can produce semen at anytime. We don't have to compete for it

@purplepoppy Here's Mother Nature's desire for competition: If women are trying to get pregnant and produce healthy offspring, the best way to do that is to have sex with a strong, healthy guy when the woman is ovulating. If such a guy comes along, then several women have the same opportunity to get pregnant if their periods (and hence their ovulations) are synchronized. The women can then compete to see which one (s) get the guy.

From my understanding, this is more of a myth than anything else. Also, from my experience, I have never had mine synchronize. I've been with my girlfriend for a year now and ours haven't synched up at all.

@SecretsofKB I can tell you, from personal experience, it's not a myth. I met my wife (we're now divorced) at work. As we dated, she told me that she and 2 other women in her department used to go on breaks together, often had lunch together, and sometimes met for drinks after work, along with the rest of the department. After about 6 months, their cycles were synchronized and they had their periods within a day of each other.
