Am I too heavy to be picked up?

I weigh 125lbs I'm 5'3".

I was hanging out with my boyfriend and he picked me up and held me for quite a bit later he picked me up again. I feel like I weigh a ton. It doesn't help that my mom calls me fat all the time. I'm super insecure about this and I really hope he doesn't think I'm fat or something.

Nah, you're good. I'm not really into the whole "fat is beautiful" movement, I think it's unhealthy. But I don't think you're likely obese. My mom was 5'4" and weighed between 110-115 consistently, and she was a very light, fit, athletic dancer and dance instructor, vegetarian and weight conscious. I would call her thin to athletic. To be honest, I would say you are on the heavier side, but still shy of obese by 5-10 pounds.

My guess is you are 25-30%?

I think an ideal healthy weight for 5'3" is around 110-115 lbs and on the low and high end more like 100-125lbs. If you want to lose weight, your best bet is changing your diet, not just temporarily, but permanently.

As for "too heavy to be picked up", that depends on who is doing the lifting.

When I sit down I have like a bit of fat in my tummy area and my moms always like you're getting fat I used to be in better shape but I've started working out and I gained muscle mass but then I started eating a lot more and now I feel fat

That is sad that you are insecure about your weight and think that you are fat. You’re at a healthy weight for your height and I wish you could see that about yourself. I’m 5” and 155 pounds and my 5’4 150 pound boyfriend can lift me so I think you should be good
