Angry without the gym? Why?

I've noticed that a male friend of mine gets really moody/a bit angry if he's not been to the gym for a few days. Why is this? The rest of the time he's a really nice guy.

A lot of guys use working out as a way to relieve stress. Also if someone who is health conscious and goes to the gym a lot but can't for a couple of days then they tend to feel bad about themselves as well as guilty which usually leads to bad mood swings.

Hmm, I suppose. I forgot about the guilt thing. I'm so used to him being kind and mellow all the time, I think it's jus a surprise to see him like this! Thanks :)

Exercise uses up the bodies stress hormones, if he doesn't find a way to release them then they build up and the person gets more tense.
