I guess mainly for women this is a common issue but have you personally experienced or witnessed harassment in the gym yourself?
Well I'm not going currently but used to go for a few years and I have never witnessed any harassment.
Sure I have seen people approaching orhers but as far as I can remember, when someone said no, the other person respected it and left the person alone.
But I have during my end of my gym era started to feel stared at me, in a pretty objectified way and I started to feel uncomfortable. In the aftermath I only trained at the women only section. Trying really badly to be not seen.
Was I stared at? I don't know, maybe I made it up in my head and walked down a rabbit hole...
but I know that a few people from the gym kept texting me on insta, cause with time you get to know the once who go all the time and two dudes in particular were acting up a little and yeah few more months and I left that gym in total.
I would also never go to that gym ever again and planning to start at another gym soon.

I have seen 35,40,50 yr old men (a group of them) staring at a girls bum who couldn’t have been older than 15, and following her around the gym, literally not even working out they were just sitting on benches and staring at her. I could tell she was uncomfortable (as you would be)! That’s it really though
I've witnessed both men and women receiving unwanted attention at the gym and others not picking up on the social cues. But I would have hardly called it harassment.
I've never witnessed someone get told off and not leave a person alone afterwards.
Then again, I go to a small local gym with limited membership. Everyone knows everyone and aside from some small talk most just goes about their business. You don't run into a lot of people who are not going with the explicit intent to get in and get out.
I haven't been to a commercial gym in several years which is where I noticed the most issues, that were never real issues.
Ironically, I've only ever personally witnessed women harassing men in the gym. That's why It irks me that there are so many women recording men in gyms, and falsely claiming that theyre being harrased, all for attention. Its gotten to the point where men aren't even comfortable helping women when they ask for it anymore. It's pretty sad.. so Im all for all women/men gyms. Anyone looking to open up a gym, would do well with this idea, because there are a lot of people today especially, that simply want to go to the gym and work out, and avoid all the complications that come with the opposite sex in a gym setting.

Nope! While I mostly exercise at home nowadays, when I went to the gym, I NEVER got harassed or bothered by anyone: male or female.
Actually I've found most gymrats to be WAY more supportive and helpful than non-gym goers. All those memes or people online posting videos of people staring at them while they workout? It's a very small percentage and shouldn't deter people from going to the gym.
Just go there, do your workout, go home.Never been to the gym, so never witnessed harassment first hand, but have seen stories of woman at the gym falsely accusing men of harassment for Tik Tok views/likes which has a negative impact on legit victims of harassment.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/LCaup0ZMTTYYes I’ve been followed by guys and stared at uncomfortable. However that’s only happened a handful of times. Most of the men are genuinely very nice; they don’t stare, make me feel comfortable AND when I first started out, would run to help me lift something heavy.
I haven't, no. The majority of the people I see and k ow in there are chill. Working for the gains or shooting the shit with someone else they know and see in there.
I haven't seen it but have heard some infrequent stories.
I've never seen this in the gym I started going to. Almost everyone knows each other there. If it happened, it wasn't when I was in the gym.
Experienced, no. Seen dudes scoping and walking repeatedly past some of the girls? Definitely.
Things like that are one of the main reasons I avoid the gyms.
Neither experienced or seen harassment at the gym.
small town, small gym, most people know each other, so that would not be tolerated at all.
