When was the last time you went to the ER? What was the reason you went?

I went to the ER yesterday night due to an allergy reaction. It took 4 hours to see a doctor.
November 2022.
I was trying to change out one of my earrings but the ball was screwed on too tight. I didn’t realize I was tugging too hard. I took out pliers in an attempt to cut the metal part. I’m doing so, the ball end of the earring got lodged into my cartilage and I couldn’t fish it out.
So I spent several hours at the hospital.
They cut my ear open and fished it out. Left with 3 stitches and cream.
Not since 13 years. old. I kept fainting and it turns out I was very dehydrated. From then on and to this day I must drink 8 glasses of water every day.
I took a crazy woman there who was suicidal. She refused to put on her hospital scrubs, so the big scary security guys stripped her naked right before my eyes. That was two years ago, and I'm just waiting for Alvin Bragg to indict me for something.
I'm sorry about your Allergy. I went to the ER with a rash on my arm. This was about a month ago, or less.
Thanks for MHO :)

My mom was visiting us and had an allergic reaction on a Saturday evening to a insect bite or sting. So we took her to the ER.
About 5 months ago. To get a couple blood tests. The next day, another Dr. told me I needed to go back and get a shitload more!
@FunkyMonkee So, did you get the shit load more done? What happened?
@sage2021 Not yet, we've had shitty weather here since then and I have until Sept. to get it6 done. Besides, the last time I went, it took them at least 4 hours to get to me and then, once they took me in to get the tests, it took them well over another hour to tell me I'm done and can leave!! Next time, I'll take a tent, a sleeping bag and a huge picnic basket!! Had I known I was gonna be that long, I could've finished reading "War & Peace"!! (I'm on page 12.)
@FunkyMonkee It is a brunch of crap that they over populate America 🇺🇸 and we are the ones who pay the price by having long lines everywhere we go.
I know at the medical place where I get my blood drawn, you can call ahead and make an appointment with minimal waiting. Maybe you could make an appointment?
So, what's your weather like where you are? It's been just raining on and off with a mixture of sunny days. I am dreading summer 🤬 on the way. It's unbearable from May till October. High 90's daily when it's not over 100° to 113°. Almost every one I talk to tells me they get sick from the hot weather and I am one of them. The humidity is so bad you almost feel like you are going to die.
What are your summers like where you are?
🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
I saw where you told someone "You're full of shit" when they gave their definition of what a tranny is. I say that to them as well. We don't hold back with our opinions do we? Just tell it like it is.

@sage2021 Summers usually don't go past the upper 90's but, back in the mid `90's, I spent a month in Cleveland and 3 days in a row it was between 102 and 106! I loved it! There was no humidity. Old ladies were passing out on the street, I was out walking several miles a day hitting all the record stores along the way. The only time it was humid was when I went to a pool hall that had all the windows open and they were right on the lake across from the Nautica stage, about a 1/4 mile from where the pyramid was being built.
Yeah, I guess I get that from mom and grandma. They took shit from no one!! Besides, I've got a number of friends that are trans so, I know what's involved with that stuff. In most cases, if they didn't tell you, you'd never know! I was talking with one of my trans friends and she had a few others with her at the time and introduced me to them. Because I know what to look for, I could tell a couple of them were trans but the others I would've never guessed had she not told me.
I don't see why everyone's so upset about them, they're just people. Treat them the way you'd wanna be treated and everything will be fine!
A friend drove me to the ER. I was having a heart attack. I was seen immediately.
@exitseven Yes it was a real heart attack. I have 2 stents in there now.
@exitseven I go for a stress test this month. I guess I will find out then.
Visit my dying grandfather
I'm so sorry for your loss. I understand how that must felt, my grandfather died of possibly cancer waiting for treatment in the Caribbean nearly 5 years ago.
Mine was in Trinidad, may I ask where he was?
4ish years ago, needed 8 staples on the back of my head
About a year ago... I was at the gym and had a seizure and hit my head on the concrete floor. I spent 4 days in the hospital with bleeding in the brain.
I had a blood clot in my leg.
@exitseven Thank God you caught that. I know that you already know that a blood clot can kill you.
One of the greatest guys I worked with for years had diabetes. Then he contracted colon cancer. They got all the cancer and he was cancer-free. Then while in recovery in the hospital a damn blood clot caused him to die. It was a pulmonary embolism. Poor Tony R. I. P. BUDDY 💔
@sage2021 I had a sore leg for days and my wife sent me to see the doc, he could not find anything wrong but sent me to get an ultrasound. The ultrasound lady started running the head up and down my leg. Her expression went from pleasant to concerned. I told her that she probably should not play poker. I had a blood clot that ran the length of my leg. I did sustain some permanent lung damage but I could have just as easily had it travel to my brain.
@exitseven WOW! Lucky they found the clot. That sounds strange for a blood clot to run the length of your leg. Glad you are okay now!
@exitseven I don't mean to sound like an alarmist, but I have quite a bit of experience with doctors and medical personnel. You can get more information off the internet than from going to see a doctor. This isn't funny, but I look my medical problems or symptoms on the internet, then I see the doctor and tell him the things that could be causing my medical issue. I even tell my doctor what medication I need and he gives it to me. I get so angry that HE didn't know sh*t about what was wrong with me. Duh!
When my son was in grave condition and hospitalized for 76 days - two times the hospital wanted to kill him. I SAID NO! First time they wanted to take him off life support. He was having trouble breathing - that's all and they wanted to kill him. Second time, son had to have emergency open heart surgery 💔 and he asked me just before his surgery if I just wanted to let him go on the operating table. I said no!
That was in 1998 when he was 19. Last Saturday he turned 45 years old.
I'm thinking about your case. It seems you should have blood checked a few times maybe more per year. Consider putting you on a daily very low dose of blood thinners to prevent that from another clot.
Any doctor that tells you that you are fine and go live your life - that's doctor speak for he doesn't know what's wrong with you and he's not going to look into it any further. THAT'S WY THEY CALL IT PRACTICE!
