Yesterday was confirmed I was having a miscarriage. It's been a terrible 3 days of dealing with this and I've lost a lot of blood. Yesterday morning I started having the clots and when it did the constant pain went away but throughout the day kept having contractions and last night I think the rest came out as I was contracting hard and having a lot of clumps coming out. I was bleeding very heavily and now since the contractions have stopped it's pretty light to just spotting. I'm sure after all I've been through I'm to be sore after but I can't find anything online about your uterus feeling achy after. I'm sure it's gotta be normal because I did just lose a lot of blood and tissue but I'm still a little worried. I have been in so much pain and bleeding so much I wasn't sure what was going on and I made it to the er and they said I was miscarrying. I wasn't very far along as I had only felt I may be pregnant, had a test done 3 weeks ago that was negative so I was waiting another week or so before taking another. By the time I got to the er I had passed most of it and they said it would finish by itself but never mentioned this achy feeling.
Yes, it's normal to feel achy. All the contracting and your body getting rid of the baby is a lot on your uterus. Even though you miscarried, it's still like you gave birth and so the aching you feel is from experiencing that. A friend of mine went through a similar miscarriage and she was achy afterwards too.
So sorry about this situation by the way. These things are never easy.
