I drank 2 pills in the morning and but I had a fever, felt unwell and forgot and took 2 more in the afternoon. I now feel scared.
+1 yIt’s good to read up on the recommended dosage amounts for any supplements you take.
Too much Vitamin D can make your body absorb calcium far more than it can handle, and that can lead to complications.
According to MayoClinic:
“The main consequence of vitamin D toxicity is a buildup of calcium in your blood (hypercalcemia), which can cause nausea and vomiting, weakness, and frequent urination. Vitamin D toxicity might progress to bone pain and kidney problems, such as the formation of calcium stones.”
Lay off on the Vitamin D pills for a couple of days and drink a lot of water. That should help flush out your system.
I hope you feel better soon!11 Reply- +1 y

Vitamin C is water soluble so excess is urinated out. Vitamin D is fat soluble so it doesn't work like that. You need to be more careful with those vitamins.
I don't think you need to have too much concern as higher doses were being discussed during the covid pandemic. Add up the total units you have taken. You could check CDC.

Nothing bad will happen on a one time occurrence. However, don't do it every day for a month or more.

+1 yIs taking 4 vitamin D bad?
Yes, getting too much vitamin D can be harmful. Very high levels of vitamin D in your blood (greater than 375 nmol/L or 150 ng/mL) can cause nausea, vomiting, muscle weakness, confusion, pain, loss of appetite, dehydration, excessive urination and thirst, and kidney stones.11 Reply- +1 y
Didn’t really feel bad, was like a bird. I guess just one time is okay.
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yYou won't get sick doing it once, but don't do that repeatedly because Vitamins A, D and E aren't water soluble, they're stored in the fat, meaning your body stores it and it builds up rather than being excreted in urine like too much B or C vitamin. A, D and E stay in your body in fat cells.

So, I can’t get rid of them anymore? 💀
Opinion Owner+1 yNot a problem because you didn't build up excessive amount of it, you just took too much once. It's only bad when you do that over a period of time.

Oh Great.
519 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Depends on their size. Most of time people are in calcium deficit anyway, so an occasional "overdose" is good.
However, you are confusing your vitamins as it's vitamin C pills you're supposed to take (not D) when feeling unwell. As well as magnesium and iron capsules.

I think you're good.
560 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. you need to do 3 things.
1st look at the amount in MG of the vitamin in the pills that you took, then find out the recommended dose, and then the side effects of taking too much.
Too much of anything is not good for you.
Your body has to process it and get rid of the extra that it doesn't need, and that can be hard on your liver/kidneys.
You will need those to be functioning perfectly when you get older.
Medicine is something that too much of is not a good thing.00 Reply734 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Just 2 per day plus sunshine on your face 10 minutes a day is enough

I take Vitamin D because Sun exposure is not recommended for me…
- +1 y
I won’t take any more this week. But It’s highly recommended for me not to go out in sun, so I always avoid the sun and instead I take Vitamin D.
Sometimes I cheat and go out in sun cause I love the sun. But most of the time it’s recommended that I avoid and I’ve been avoiding the sun exposure since like 17. - +1 y
I think each pill includes 2000 IU if I checked correctly

I’ll be careful next time. It’s just in the morning I drank 2 pills. Had a high fever, fell asleep and when I woke up for some reason I forgot I had taken it earlier and repeated the same. Then I remembered that actually I took the vitamin in the morning.
+1 yFrom an ex druggie, I can say you'll be fine, if it was that easy I'd be dead and you'd probably only get sick.
10 ReplyI don't know about D in particular, but there's an older guy I know who took himself out over a couple days on accident by taking too many vitamins, only take them as it says on the bottle, more isn't always better, and very often can be very bad.

+1 yNot all pills have the same amount. I mean that's common sense🤦 Check first and see how many IUs does each pill have and only then could you determine if it can harm you or not.
