Has the recent developments in the world pushed some people over the edge? ?

I read the obituaries every day. Both the newspaper near my home and where I have a summer house. I take note when I see the death of a young person. Usually they succumb to a fentanyl overdose and there have been quite a few over the last couple of years. However over the last week or so there have been an alarming number of suicides. All are by people under 40. Most actually list the cause of death as suicide to encourage people dealing with depression to seek help. Some simply say they died unexpectedly and ask people to donate to some charity that works in mental health. I counted seven between the two newspapers.

Do you think the recent developments in the world have contributed to this?

Please keep in mind that they aren't quite up to calling a Fentanyl a poisoning or murder, because that's what it is. They still insist on reporting Fentanyl as an overdose, which could be interpreted as an suicidal overdose.
My boyfriend died because his meth was laced with Fentanyl. Fentanyl kills a person instantly.
The Medical examiner that saw my boyfriend was telling me that it kills the person so fast that he has seen them dead while still holding the lighter they had just used.
I suppose suicides are way up and will continue to go up. The world (America) is a bad place to be anywhere you go.
Like I said before, some people want to die before the world is through killing them. Someone here called it self-deletion.
I've known about 6 people that were in their late 20's, early 30's that commuted suicide back in the 90's, which was quite a few since I didn't know many people back then.

Guy - overdose due to relationship break up. She refused to back with him.
A lady about 30ish - financial troubles and a boyfriend who wouldn't commit to her. There was actually a book at the bookstore that was called "How to commit suicide". The book was found on her stomach with the page open for the suicide she chose. My friend went to that bookstore and demanded they take that book off the shelves.
Guy - engineer. Had two sick kids and was overwhelmed with million dollar doctor bills and killed himself in his company truck.
Another older man was fired from his job, and killed himself in his car from fumes I think. He was my boss at the time.
My tax man. He was getting divorced and was batting zero with the ladies. So, he committed suicide.
That's enough for now, but you get the idea. There are all kinds of reasons why people seld-delete. And yes, it is getting worse. I am sorry to say, but I don't see it getting better because people just don't care about people like the used to. It's all about them. As my ex-best friend told me when I was down and out "Family First" means we aren't going to help you.

I have been reading the obits for a while. I usually spot 2 or 3 suicides a month. Getting 7 in one week really jumped out at me. I just wo Der if people are carrying a heavy enough burden to begin with. Now with WW3 on the horizon it just got too much to bear

I think a lot of people were negatively impacted by the experimental COVID vaccines. This lead to permanent disabilities and chronic health conditions in many people. A lot of them probably feel helpless being that medical staff often dismiss their complaints and gaslight them by ignoring their problem and pain. The victims of the experimental COVID vaccines often feel ashamed and stupid for consenting to take it and see no way out due to the medical establishment constantly emotionally abusing them. You're suppose to be able to go to the doctor to get better, but the doctors, nurses, pharmacists caused the problem to begin with and refuse to admit that they harmed their patients and ignore the damage they have done. So people having no options an lots of pain regret opt out.

@rigmarole Yes, my wife was forced to take the Covid vaccine because of her job in healthcare. I was a teacher so I also was forced to take it. My wife got very sick after the first booster and has not been the same since. She has random skin rashes and other weird symptoms. Naturally the doctors this she is nuts. We decided if our employers want us to take another booster we will retire.

Yeah I've seen a lot of people in the same situation. There are many people with nerve problem, people with extreme stomach pain, etc. and their local medical staff keeps writing them off as mentally ill and telling them there isn't anything medically wrong with them when they have legitimate disabilities that are interfering with their life. I've already seen a few of them die while doctor after doctor keeps telling them nothing is wrong with them.

I'm with you. On top of the damage COVID-19 did to our country, then we ended up with a president that is crazy as he is dumb and finished America off of anything good or safe. Him and the other democrats are to blame. There is definitely something wrong with their way of thinking.
Yes, there's not much left for anyone to be happy about. I just stay in my apartment and try to block out what's going on out there.
I used to like watching Fox News Channel but it is just 24 hours of watching the war and occasionally some things going on in America like Rite aid closing down most of their stores.
Self-delete does sound better than suicide. I know I will be condemned for saying this, but people that are having babies on purpose in this day and time ought to be thinking of what kind of life that child will have for the next 80 years. They will be born in a hell hole. Yes, babies are cute and fun for parents to have, but please think of the child and what kind of life it will have. Even going to school and coming out alive each day is some good news.

The point is the suffering that the child will somehow have to survive for it's life time. Not the amount of people that are born. It's their quality of life I am talking about, and it won't be good. Why put another human being on this earth to suffer? Seriously? Cute little babies grow up and become adults and it isn't an easy thing to be anymore. Not like it was when Trump and the President's before him were in charge of the country of America 🇺🇸. How about during President Carter's term as President? It was pretty darn uneventful compared to now. All I remember about him was his family grew 🥜 peanuts and he was from Georgia and he also was a big fan of peanuts. Yes, I believe it's possible, The world is going through a lot of crisis at the same time, so many people are struggling and the news are bad. People feel hopeless and desperate. It's even worse for people who suffer from mental illnesses. Our world doesn't care about mental health, so those who are suffering feel afraid or ashamed to ask for help. In some cases they feel that nobody will take them seriously and help them. It's terrible!

I found myself having some negative thoughts, but I'm trying to stay hopeful and positive. Nothing lasts forever, so this will pass.

@menina I had my annual physical and i talked to my doctor about it. He took it very seriously and told me that he has seen a lot of this since covid. He told me that if it was not for covid I would be teaching my classes and living my life. Just the fact that I was not the only one that this is happening to made me feel better. I have since found a new job and doing a lot better.

The first thing you need to consider is that the media is controlled by Satan. Then you need to realise that there are miracles happening every minute and none of them are ever reported in any newspapers. Thus you are consuming darkness. And then we have dozens of illegal aliens moving into the town next to mine. The state is spending millions of tax dollars to rent two hotels for 2 or 3 hundred of them. There were American citizens living there and they were evicted. Then a week after they moved in one of them robbed the restaurant next door at knifepoint. The entire police force was dispatched and he was apprehended within an hour. Not a peep out of the local news media.

Maybe societal norms or geopolitics can play a part in exacerbating the condition but I don't think they're a direct cause. Personally I think class has a lot to do with it, stagnating wages since the 80s that don't keep track with inflation, politicians on both sides of the aisle that take bribes and do the bidding of oligarchs. There's no choice, no way out, just wake up suit up work shit job sleep work shit job die. My generation will be worse off than our parents as will our kids. People overwork themselves burn out become isolated and fractured and for what? So they can bank it and then get robbed next time the economy crashes by some banker coked off his gourd.

I am also surprised that a lot of recent deaths involve people who are statistically unlikely to die from old age or age related diseases. I think the global mental health crises is affecting lives and shortening lives either through suicide or homicide or drug use. I also read a book that says emotional and psychological trauma can lead to physical diseases later in life.
