I got a mild flu recently and I’m on day 2 right now. My symptoms have reduced significantly but I just developed loss of taste. I can smell okay. I have Christmas dinners to make and have taste testing to do and I absolutely need to taste the food lol. Does anyone have any quick working remedies I can try? Thanks!

Just an update: I burnt a lemon until the skin was completely burnt black, i scooped out the insides, added a teaspoon of sugar and ate it. I definitely tasted the tang and the next day my taste was back! I also inhaled steam and ensured that I kept blowing my nose to clear it. Those two things helped a lot!

Damm you had to do those things to get it back? In my case I was back to normal after a week.
I usually would let it take its course but I was desperate this time lol 😂 . I really wanted to enjoy the Holiday meals and desserts since I was on a diet during most of the year. It was a weird solution (I found on TikTok) but worked pretty. The original recipe asked for a burnt orange but I didn’t have any, so I opted for a lemon instead.
