for example, Shatner just turned 93. And he often talks about how much he loves to be alive and how he thinks about the disaster of death encroaching. And not too long ago he was like whether I keel over in the middle of this interview or 10 years from now, I know the end is coming. it’s pretty dark when you think about it.
Statistically speaking, you do have more time left to live than the time you have already lived. What I find sad, is a month ago my great uncle had his drivers license renewed. He won’t have to have it renewed for seven years. He’s 86! I told him, “well, uncle, at least you won’t have to go through the hassle of getting your license renewed again, because if you aren’t dead, I guarantee you won’t be driving anymore”. I’m really good at finding the bright side of things.

Yeah. It's weird to think of something innocuous like the month of March and realize I only have maybe 50 months of March left until I stop existing. We are a species that tries to live in our imaginations but are nonetheless tethered to reality by chains no barrage of thought can smudge let alone break.
If I get to my 60s and 70s I would actually be grateful that I've lived a good life, did all the things I wanted to do, achieved many goals and have a beautiful family. Nothing to be depressed about. There's gonna come a time where I will no longer have my time left but I will leave this earth knowing that I did all I could, lived a happy life and got so share many good memories with my beloved Husband.
I am going to be 70 in a few months. My life has been a constant struggle.
I only stay alive because my son needs me.
Sometimes I just want it to be over and done.

he thinks like this because he's rich and famous and doesn't want to lose all the fun and excitement and comfort that came with that. he probably agonized over the loss of his youth in the same way
regular people feel like they've lived their lives and worked their years and raised their families so they're not as panicked about it. there might be a lot more they wanted to do in life but without the money for it it's not going to happen anywayThose kind of thoughts come with middle age and looming 40, tbh. Definitely refocuses your mind on what kind of life you want to live and how you can change paths to get there. The ego is scared of death, but we are a lot more than our egos.
Yep I guess it will be, which is why I try and live life like it isn't a rehearsal!
