Girls, Ever had to be naked at the physio or at massage?

Like title asks,

Some background information why I am asking:

I am active on a high level in a certain sport, (will not share which one to remain anonymous),

I had a rather serious injury to the ligaments/muscle connections on the inside of my left thigh, was back in October, and got a time booked with a physiotherapist to help me make a recovery plan,

Now at my visit, I was eventually asked to undress completely from the waist down, as explained it was cause she had to feel and see the area of injury (inside thigh, muscle connection to hip).

I didn't feel it necessary, but also didn't feel I had the option not to. Have anyone ever had to undress like this at a visit or is my gut feeling right that something is off?

It’s often standard practice, to take your clothing off from the area that needs to be massaged. For full body massages, I’ve had to fully undress, but they had me lay on my front so that nothing is shown, and a cloth was laid across my butt. And when laying on my back, I was given two small cloths to cover my privates & breasts. That’s very normal for full body massage, they need full access to your muscle.


But if they’re only massaging specific areas, you should not need to fully undress. If they’re only doing your neck/shoulders/back, you shouldn’t have to take off your pants/underwear.

Was inside thigh and my hip.

And yeah, I didn't get anything to cover with, but had to lift my leg and show range of motion in front of her so I felt very exposed...

I played varsity volleyball in high-school. Never had to get undressed to the point of nudity during any checkup. Had to go twice for my rotary cuffs and ankle. Most I needed was to take off my shirt, not my bra.

For massages, depending on what you're getting, you usually need to strip down to your underwear and are draped in towels or sheets for privacy. I happily go nude and full on relax mode ☺️

Yeah, i have had to go for other areas in the past, but never this level of nudity.

As I had hurt the inside thigh, rather far up, it was very embarassing and felt vulnerable to be asked to lift my leg or have it out to the side and so on as she was sitting sort of between my legs with nothing covering my privates...

It is not abnormal to undress at a physio since he/she wants to inspect the reaction of tendons and muscles to movement and see if abnormal things happen internally during flexing and moving.

Is what I thought too, I dont want to be "that one" that makes drama over nothing, but yeah.

I felt very exposed, as I had to show range of motion and lift/flex my leg out to the sides, and she was positioned right in front of me basically.

Not completely naked but if it's a full body massage I keep my briefs on.
