How would that affect you?

While I would 100% expect my fitness trainer to be in objectively good shape and in better fitness than me, I can imagine I might feel intimidated if someone was like 1 million times more attractive/hot than me. Being fit makes one attractive, yes, but there is a huge difference between someone who has never been 'completely out of shape' and a snob who doesn't like to 'let their muscle mass drop 5-10lbs.'
I am very out of shape after having a baby, but I have never been more than 15 lbs overweight, obese, managing a biological imbalance. I couldn't imagine starting 30+ pounds overweight and having a blasé hot girl tell me that one more rep is gonna make me look like her one day. It would just feel so patronizing. Of course, I would hope that I genuinely clicked with my fitness trainer and her coaching style, but yes there is some bias in there.
I think most men would want the hottest trainer they could get because they have the audacity to assume they could bag a woman as hot as their trainer in 3-6 months lol.
No. Seeing your results makes me trust your advice. It would be more of a problem if a fatto tried to teach me how to be fit
🤣🤣 stop embarassing yourself dude you clearly know nothing about this. What advice? there's like thousand advices a coach could give like nutritions, vitamins, workout schedule, workout techniques...
And what the hell is wrong with my face shape? 🤣 Many people told me i look like im on steroids, i take it as a compliment now but hormones? That doesn't even make sense 🤣
I believe you had to think that your physique would be motivational as it is, because to get to your point there has to be a strong motivational inclination towards physique building.
But it's just you. Just a projection of your specific inclination onto others. That projection will match when others are driven within by something similar as what you have. And fail whenever you meet someone with different purposes.
So, yes, your physique will demotivate those who don't picture what you've been through to build that. You got there because you truly wanted to have this specific body you have now, that is perhaps the message you could deliver to your clients when you see them in doubt. Perhaps it is what makes a coach a good one?
I can't say how I would be affected because physique building to the extent you're doing isn't talking to me, so I won't be a client for that.
I suppose it depends on what they are looking for. If a woman is looking for more of a muscular "guyish" body type then I could see them liking you as a PT, if she is looking for more of a feminine slim body type they might not want you as a PT because what they want is different then what you have created for yourself.
Same thing applies to a guy.. If a guy was an athlete, like for soccer or hockey, etc.. then getting a PT thats a power lifter is not what he should be looking for.
I’ve coached clients for over twenty years, and I’ve seen both reactions.
For some, a very fit trainer is inspiring: “That’s where I want to go.”
For others, it highlights the gap: “I’ll never look like that,” which can feel discouraging, especially early on.
What helps:
- Emphasize their progress, not your physique.
- Share your own struggles and timeframes, so they see the journey.
- Set realistic, personalized goals (strength, energy, health, not just appearance).
- Ask new clients directly: “Does my look motivate or pressure you?” and adjust your approach.

Being a bad trainer is what will demotivate them. I've seen trainers- thin and bulky- who were good , and I've some others who were not so good at their job. THAT is the deciding factor.
I would just have a boner all the time. Semen juice just dripping like crazy with massive blue balls. I find that highly motivating. I'd be your best student... hanging on every word and every tip you give. Train me harder Mommy.
I would expect my personal trainer to be in tip top condition, so I can't understand your clients point of view, or perhaps she's clutching at straws for a deduction in your wages 🙂
Personally I'd like to think I would motivate you into more effort, not demoralise you 😄
But why should the pupil be better than the teacher?
Anyway I hope you have you transformed your client to a Viola lookalike inspite of her demotivation.
Can a fit trainer demotivate certain individuals? Yes. But those tend to be idiots who think they are gonna see insane results in 2 months of going to the gym 5 days a week to achieve a bikini bod for the summer. Then reality hits and they lose interest fast before fitness ever has a chance to become a lifestyle that is self sustaining and enjoyable. I think those people are a lost cause.
Focus on the ones who actually have a chance at changing their lives.
It wouldn't affect me at all cause im not envious, but also as the person I am I would never get a personal trainer, I strongly believe people who get personal trainers are demotivated already so maybe seeing a body like yours makes them feel some type of way but that's just their character and I've seen people look at me salty cause of my body (I dont think im all that) but you're gonna see that everywhere, people are always going to be envious they aren't what you achieved.
I’ve never had a personal trainer but I would’ve thought exactly the opposite.. if I see my personal trainer is in a good shape, I would be more confident that they know what they are doing and they are good at their job.. I’ll be excited 😊
It's only mentally weak and insecure people who would be demotivated from seeing someone who is the image of their goal. They can just stay skinny or fat their entire lives if their mentality is so petty.
I think it’s a good filtering mechanism.
If someone is demotivated instead of inspired then they’re not serious about working out.
People who are athletic at heart usually admire other people who are the same not envy them
You need incredible shape as a PT and it requires constant work and improvement..
NO , that client ( like many of them ) doesn't really want to make the changes , she has a phycological block , it's the hard work putting her off.
On the contrary, seeing my personal trainer like that would actually motivate me more. It makes me feel like they're doing something right. I definitely wouldn't trust a personal trainer with a belly.
No, seems very achievable.
Also not everyone has the same fitness goals.
No, you look fine. Insecure people will always try tear up others.
You should have smiled at her and said "work out in the gym like me, and you could look even better!"
Even if she was an elephant in a tutu...
Having a fit person like you as a personal trainer should be like a calling card, not a limitation.
By the way, any advice on getting back in shape would be appreciated :)
No you look like normal fit to me. Plus your trainer is supposed to be fitter than you since it's their job. Someone intimidated just has no self confidence..
I've been strength training for a number of years but am still 'skinny'. I'm pretty sure they will listen to you rather than me. Proof is in the pudding. The proof to many is being big.
I’d want a trainer who looked in shape so, I know the strategies you are training me to follow have proven success.
I don’t see this as demotivation, it should be motivation.
I would go with a different trainer because I don’t want my body to look anything like that and wouldn’t trusr you to be able ro guide me to the physique I want.
Yeah, I just don’t trust that you could. You and I have very different ideas of what our ideal bodies look like. So, I would go woth a different trainer.
@Viola_456 Your name reminds me of that actress and separately the Jane Fonda character.
You seem very groovy, so keep achieving your life goals lady 💯
I think if you were my personal trainer, I'd be very motivated to arrive at each session right on time 😺
I don't have a need for a personal trainer but if I had one I would of course expect that they're in a better shape than me. But this specific body shape is not something I want anyway
it can, exactly for that reason and they may feel you can't relate to them, obviously that usually isn't right. What about male clients, probably a ton of them.
you are there to train their bodies...
not to deal with their insecurities...
that is true, if they're on the surface and they're looking for assurance, however...
a deeply rooted insecurity... not even the professional in therapy are successful with those all the time... so why would a fitness instructor be, the solution to that... lol
As for clients they come & go & I’m sure new clients go to you all the time.
As for your physique YES it can demotivate clients.
Most personal trainers don’t work out along with the student at the same time you usually stand there and teach and they do the exercises if she’s a baby can’t handle it then let her go you are a tough girl you need tough clients
If I were going to train, I would choose someone in good shape because she knows what works.
If you were my personal trainer I'd be ripped in less than 3 months
You have a huge ass and thunder thighs! If that's the best you can do, as a client I would seek a better trainer.
@Malwi93 If so. . . bad choice!
It makes no sense? I am wrong for thinking that girls with big asses and big thighs are unattractive? Every guy MUST be attracted to that oversize physique?
It doesn't make sense becouse you said you would not pick a trainer like that. If you're a creep that picks his trainer based on attractivness then it makes sense to you 🤣🤣
I understand you might not be attracted to me and that ok, but you gotta admit that my body proves that i know how to train
I don’t think you have an ideal physique.
It's your attitude that can motivate or demotivate people not your physique.
If my trainer was better looking bigger taller and fitter than me I'd penetrate just have a man crush and admire them,
only those self loathing lost causes who won't stick around anyway. choose your customers wisely.
Honestly, I’d probably feel a little intimidated at first, but I’d also see it as proof you know what you’re doing. What would matter most is whether you made me feel like my own goals were achievable too
I think distracted is the word your looking for not demotivated.
It helps i mean if they are out of shape would you take advice if they wasn’t in shape.
I imagine it would motivate me to not be a lazy fat slug.
Perhaps, but then those people will also likely be demotivated by random strangers who are more fit than they are. Not worth worrying about.
id guess its far harder to be model skinny than to have the body you do
No it would encourage and demonstrate to your clients you know how to set and achieve st fitness goals.
Nope you physical appearance should motivate you clients. I know if I had a personal trainer I'd want then to look great cause if they didn't i wouldn't trust them to make me look great
No but your narcissism most likely demotivates anybody.
Offer training at the advanced level as it won't affect them like it could affect a beginner
I’m not really sure, can you please make me look as good as you?
@Viola_456
I want my ass to look as beautiful as yours 💃
It’s definitely achievable, I working on mine and I love the result
A personal trainer should look fit, strong, and inspiring - Like you
How picky are you with what you eat? You done well so far in this.
Neither, but I would definitely be distracted!
If anything, you would inspire personal growth 😉
I think it depends on how you talk to people. If you brag about how many years it took you to get in that shape and how hard it was to achieve it, anybody would be demotivated.
I think most people would actually be motivated. Now, some people really look for excuses
It'll only demotivate them from doing the same kind of plastic surgery you did
The only thing demotivating them is your narcissistic overblown swollen ego and how full if yourself you are
A 2 that thinks she's a 10 🙄🫡😬
It wasn't
@Viola_456 wouldn’t it have the opposite effect?
Lol nah as a trainer you should setting up the example
Nobody will ever look as good as you in leggings. No matter how much they bulk up.
Your ass isn't sexy, and your legs are too big.
@Tomislav7 why , do you like girls that have legs like men?
@Tomislav7 are u gay
@Tomislav7 yeah thought so
@Tomislav7 no problem, it was easy
@Tomislav7 that's fine, you should be.
@Tomislav7 you're the one replying.
Humble brag much? 😂
She's a very groovy lady 🆒 - achieving her goals right Viola
You’re so clearly a catfish lol
I think it’s motivational
You would only motivate me 😉
Pro tip: Stop being a show off. -___-
more like movitate clients
