I am not a doctor, but I am a personal trainer. it could be anything from working out to much, not enough, working out not correctly, stress, disc problem, kidney stones, and so on. what I recommended is the RICE method and extra strength tylonal. R-rest, I-ice, C-compress ice with light towel, E elevate. have her lay down with flat back and raise feet up just a tad so her back is still flat. it should help take some pressure off of the lower back. if the ice doesn't help after 24 hrs try heat instead. never ever apply heat or cold directly on the skin. if neither of those two things help see a back specialist. also do a hamstring stretch with her u should be able to get a description online. if not message me. also if the mattress is old it could be that too.
