Does your belly button smell?

Sometimes when I put my finger in my bellybutton and sniff it - it smells.

Is this normal? Does your bellybutton smell? I like to think I'm a clean person.

I also find it interesting that the smell is so intense. It's like woah - perfume capable maybe. Apparently all your perfume etc. is made with the help of very smelly agents. I guess these days those agents are chemicals and not mother nature products like bellybutton fluff. :).

Your belly button is like any other part of your body in the sense that it gets dirty and must be cleaned. I go to the gym regularly and it stays pretty hot down here so I sweat a good bit during the day so I shower twice per day and I clean my belly button every time I shower. If I didn't clean it I'm sure it would smell. Cleaning it does not require anything special, just a realization that it must be cleaned. Its nothing to be ashamed of and it only takes a small amount of effort to correct.

You have to focus on it when you shower.. Haha. Like when you are washing a car, you have to go through all the nooks and crannies or else there will be areas where it's grimy or dusty

Lmao yeah sure, sweat and moisture gather there, but that's why one should wash out their belly button as part of their normal showering routine. XD And then make sure it's properly dry afterward, with like a cotton ball wrapped around your finger or a q-tip or something, haha.

no,not really. you should try cleaning it out when you shower,you should pay attention to any part of your body that could be neglected during regular showering,like your ears,behind your ears,your belly button

Omgoodness, I distinctly recall when I had this same realization. Decided to stick a cotton swab in one day and gave it a whiff and was horrified.

Yeah, soap and water. Or just remembering to let the shower stream blast it out a little bit.

Its another part of the body that needs a little extra scrub.

I think after? Smelling whatever is in there. My belly button seems to attract the cotton piece? I'm not sure if that's what you were meaning.

No, It actually doesn't smell like anything lol.I clean my belly button in the shower everyday. You should try that, I do that and it never stinks.

I don't tuck my shirt in either unless I'm at school so, it's usually out in the open and breathing ha ha try keeping your stomach cool I guess.

Mmmm maybe it's the kind of clothes I wear. I will try wash it more often. I just don't usually poke things into it to clean :E!

I have an innie and the space has a pretty good opening , not too small or any thing. I just use my washcloth with soap and water or a shower sponge over the area :)
