I dealt with the same issue for years. Take a B complex vitamin and a calcium suplament every day even if you are taking a multi vitamin on a daily basis. Vitamin B helps to regulate your energy and metabolism and the calcium will help you sleep if you take it at night ( I have no idea why but it does). Vitamins B and C are water soluble vitamins while A,D,E, and K are fat soluble. It's hard to overdose on B and C so don't worry about over doing it; in fact for the first week I took the vitamin B I took a double dose. Another thing that helped was for about 2-3 weeks I took a melatonin suplament before bed to help me sleep. It helps to reset your internal clock and now I rarely take it. If you try the melatonin start with a low dose of 3mg or less; I started with 6mg because it took me hrs to fall asleep and I wanted to make sure I would sleep, though I did fall asleep quickly and stay asleep I woke up feeling drowsy and had bad headaches. 3mg put me to sleep quickly and I had less of a headache and no drowseyness. I hear headaches are a common side affect from taking melatonin but for me they went away within an hr of waking up once I switched to 3mg and went away completely after the first 3-4 days of only taking 3mg. After taking the B complex for about a week I started to notice a slight difference and after 2weeks I really started to feel better. After a month I felt "normal". Now I keep the B complex and melatonin around for when I need them but it's not that often or for very long. Hope you get to feeling better.

your not sleeping at the same time everyday. Sleeping 8 hours doesn't necessarily mean you will not be tired if your body clock is not adjusting to the natural sunlight then you will feel that way. link
I had the same problem...and it was too low a level of carbs in my diet.
I was scaling back carb consumption during the "holiday season"...and I noticed how low-energy I was.
I ate more "good" carbs.
Oatmeal, (real) wheat bread, beans, tortillas, grits...the most "processed" carb I eat are white rice and grits.
My energy levels are back to normal. Do the same and that may work for you. :)
You should go see a doctor. Your body might be fighting a disease that has easy to miss symptoms. Your body is using most of your energy to fight the disease so you have less energy to use. It's like your body is stressed out even if you don't know it.

Your body lacks the stimuli required to release neurotransmitters responsible for motivation and energy.
It's fairly common to feel this way during the winter months. Some warm sunshine and perhaps a cup of coffee can help.Sounds like you're anemic. Same thing as me. You don't have enough iron in your system most likely. Try taking iron supplements or eating something with lots of iron in it?
I am usually sleepy during the winter. I think its because I am less active and therefore become use to using less energy.
