Everyone is right in there own way. What ur looking to do is boosted your metabolism through the roof, it is what will burn off the fat and get you in to shape.
For eating, eat 3 meals(make a healthy choices as much as possible) a day with 3 snacks(like nuts, vegetables with low cal dressing, ect), breakfast being the biggest than a small snack. Lunch you need to have a good size meal smaller than breakfast than a small snack. With supper being the smallest and then a light snack at the end of the day. The idea is to never be hungry during the day even if your not hungry eat anyway, also you can have some junk food too but limit it to once a week.
For the work out, plan it to fall I a week with 3 cardio days and 3 strength days and one rest day(your body will need it). The cardio days you can run, bike, jump rope anything, all that is important is to keep ur hart rate up, ex. when running go at a steady pace but a couple minutes in you need to go full tilt for 60 seconds than go back to the steady pace for 1-3 min and sprint again , do this for 30-60 min. This can be done with any cardio exercise, apply the same idea.
Now the strength exercises you need to do them, it burns fat plus it sculpts ur body. What you do is find weight exercises ur able to do (interweb is a good place to look). What every exercises you find try and match them up according to area, ex upper body, lower body, and core. Choose 6+ exercises for upper, 6+ for lower, and 6+ for core. You won't to do 15-20 reps for each exercise so choose weights you can do that with. The plan, make two supersets for each body area with the 6+ exercises you have chosen.(a set is an exercise with 15-20 reps, and a superset is 3-4 sets.) For the workout do a superset with only 20 seconds between ur sets(ex. set1, rest 20sec, set2, rest 20sec, set3 and ur done a superset) and 2 minutes between ur supersets, also repeat both ur supersets once(ex 1 superset, rest 2min, 1superset, rest 2min, 2 superset, rest 2min, 2 superset) Remember to warm up before and cool down after a workout, also stretch before, during, and after a workout. A good thing to do is to change the exercises every 3-4 week, (keep the same base plan) so all ur muscles are worked.

You need to invest about 5 dollars in a JUMP ROPE, then invest 50 or 60 dollars in some RUNNING SHOES. no gym membership necessary. pickup that cardio, and put down the snacks. eat proportionate ( when the box says 1 cup of cereal it means just that), and exercise.
jump rope for 15 mins in the morning. go running twice a day for about 30 mins each time if I feel you need to lose weight. RUN HARD, PUSH YOURSELF. then jump rope for 15 mins late in the day. (it'll take some practice to be able to jump smoothly, but the calorie burn, and the heart building it does is phenomenal...... google Leila Ali ) boxers (me) jump rope a lot. its easy, its fun because you can dance while you do it as you get better at it.
The simple answer is to cut back on caloric intake and exercise more. You can't spot reduce something, your body doesn't work like that. If you cut back on calories and get exercise you will loose body fat, and it will make your whole body look better, plus you will have those great endorphins running through your body from the exercise.
Dance! That's how I exercise! If you do it long enough it does take affect! ^-^

Whats working for me right now is the 3 hour diet, you eat breakfast as soon as you get up then 3 hours later you have a snack then lunch 3 hours later then 3 hours after lunch you have a snack then 3 hours later you eat supper and don't eat anything after 8pm and drink lots of water because it can wash the extra fat out of your body and you continue like that but make sure when you have a snack that its light, and no fast food and 3-4 times a week you should goto the gym or do some running or walking for an hour. I used to weight 300 pounds but now I'm down to a lean 240 and I'm 6'4 love it haha
Try some pilates that focuses on your middle area. That's what I do. Double up on your cardio workout as it's really good for burning fat (don't over-exercise, keep a schedule).
Water, less chewing gum, and ab exercises. There are special ones for these target areas. Try a google search.
Stop eating! Jk! start taking in 500 calories less everyday it work you'll lose 2lbs a week! and if you exercise it'll be weight lost!
