Anyways, I have a cut on the tip of my tongue and the sting is extremely irritating and I can't talk right. It's been 3 days.
Anyone know some solutions to help it heal? Numb it? etc..
Chamomille tea. It doesn't help on the short run , but def. on the long run .. it cleans and heals very fast!
My mom put 8 teeth implants so imagine the huge cut that went from one side of the mouth to the other side.. it didn't heal until she started mouthwashing with chamomille tea.
You just boil water , put the flowers and leave it to cool down (it's easier to put in mouth when it's colder, and hot can hurt your wound even more) .. keep mouthwashing, or stick your tongue in a cup of tea .. it will def. help , but it will take a while since naturist ways take longer time :)
Hmm.. I might try this after I try renee's suggestion. I'm not sure if we have it a local convenience store o.O sounds exotic. But between Walmart and Rite-Aid there is probably a wide selection of herbal teas.
ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Thank you for understanding.
too expensive for a minor visit :P And I feel like he'd just give me pain meds and I hate pills cause they're not studied enough. :/ I'm hopeless. xD
Would that work?
hmmm.. thanks! I'll try it. At the very least it should dry the area and theoretically that should promote healing.
So I rubbed some on the tip of my tongue a little while ago.. and this actually has made it feel better. o.o I don't know about healing better, but its sting isn't so prevalent. Thank you! <3
Definitely try to stay away from foods that require a lot of work to chew and stuff. You don't want to re-injure it. I think the best thing to do is let it rest. Maybe ice cream would help though because it's cold and smooth and easy to eat, but we can't eat ice cream all day.
Sadly, I can.
Then for sure do that. I feel like the fact that you don't need to chew it and that it's cold will help. I've never had something like that last for so long though. It's not infected or anything is it?
I don't know.. I wouldn't think so with all the enzymes in saliva.. but I can't brush the back of my teeth cause it hurts and I don't want to make it worse. So that's not good, at least hygienically speaking if not risk of infection wise.
What about mouthwash? Or does it sting too much?
haha. I am not even gonna try that. Sorry. I only have Listerine mouthwash and I've used it with cankers before.. and this is worse than a canker.

Tongues take some time to heal. I think it's either 2 or 3 days just to heal a burned tongue. Give it time, try to stick to cold foods if at all possible (ice cream, frozen yogurt, ice, applesauce, whatever else is in your fridge / freezer). Ice it if that helps with pain. Don't use salt, lol.
Stay away from acidic foods and drinks like soda and stuff (duh right?) Again try the ice, wet it first with some warm water and place it on your tongue for no more than 3-4 minutes. Wash your mouth out with warm water at night to keep it cleaned out and things like cold milk or icecream might make it feel better. Cuts on your tongue or gums take longer to heal. If it's a deep cut I would consider going to the doctor.
Ice will numb it for a little while.
That isn't gonna hurt?
I'll try it.. but if the tip of my tongue sticks to the ice, I keel you.
okay okay! any further instructions?
Suck on a cough drop :)
How does that help?
The stuff that numbs your throat will also numb your tongue
touche
If you try this, make sure you get the strong ones, because your tounge sounds pretty bad :/
Stop giving oral to the homeless men in your town and you will maybe have a chance at it healing
