Weight loss pills?

okay I want to loos weight for my sisters wedding. I have always been the big one of the girls I weight 180 and I'm 5'4 I'm exercising but it does not seem to work on its own I'm cutting back on fatty foods too and I been looking at weight loss pills to help me out I have looked at the risks but still not sure I would like to know if has any one have tried and it has worked for them

also I'm on birth control and my friends tell me that's why I got big because I use to be 130

Weight loss pills aren't going to do anything. Any pills that actually help you drop weight super fast are unsafe and have ingredients that make you feel jittery and panicky.

The only SAFE diet pills are ones that your doctor can offer you and even then, you are not overweight enough to warrant prescription diet pills.

Also, many of the diet pill companies present results from what is called an "in house" study where the experiment was done by their company. They use small experimental groups and have biased results. Even then, the weight loss results presented is negligible- 2 pounds per week with diet and exercise. Hear that "diet and exercise." More than likely it was the diet and exercise was the reason for the weight loss.

That is great that you are cutting out fatty foods, but you need to do more than just cut that out.

Cut out all added sugar which means almost no pre=packaged food. Fruits and veggies, milk and stuff is fine. However, if you look at the nutrition information on the back of certain foods and you see anything more than a few grams of 'sugars" (not just "carbs") then it probably has added sugar. If you eat very much of these things every day it really adds up.

Also watch your portion sizes as that is another thing with a HUGE impact on how you lose weight.

I guarantee if you do the above you will see results. You just have to be honest, real, and strict.

It didn't take a week to put on the weight so it shouldn't take a week to get rid of it. Aim for about 1-2 pounds per week, which means it may take about 5 months to get it all off. However, if you are doing this and kicking ass in the gym, for the first couple weeks you may notice a bigger drop off and it isn't uncommon to drop 3-4 pounds the first couple weeks but then that will taper off.

I don't know much about weight loss pills, but If they actually work your only going to lose weight for awhile because you didn't really make any major changes to your lifestyle. Simply because your not far from a healthy weight I would recomend trying to loose weight naturally. Like you said, you are going to want to avoid fatty foods, also if you eat a lot of fast food try to cut that out as completely as you can. Its not a matter of completely cutting out "bad" foods, but rather keeping everything in balance and not eating to much of anything. Portion size plays as big a roll in controlling your weight as does what you eat. We're not talking starvation here but just a reduction. When you start eating less your body will try to keep up the fat reserves due to its perception of "famine" so you may not notice any difference right away, give it some time to adjust before giving up. Aslo as final tip watch your intake salt and drink plenty of water.

When it comes to exercise walking is a great way to go. A common misconception is that running burns a lot more energy than walking, and while does take more its not an astronomical difference. Another thing to know is that exercise doesn't burn fat but rather carbohydrates. So more exercise doesn't mean your going to lose weight fater, but it is important for a healthy lifestyle. I reccomend going out for a brisk one mile (or the most that seems doable) walk once every other day to begin with then work on going farther. Again your going to be building muscle and not burning fat stores, and that's why diet is more important in that regard. But don't leave out exercise on those grounds.

Most weight loss pills contain some type of stimulant ingredients which suppresses appetite and should theoretically lead to reduced caloric intake and weight loss. The best way to reduce your weight is to start with changing your diet. The best way to do that is to eat every two hours. I eat about 200 calories of protein powder, and a can of v8 vegetable juice every two hours. I also eat dairy (1 oz of cheese or 8 0z of skim OR soy milk) with 3 of the meals, one serving of fruit with one of the meals, and one serving of carbohydrates (2 slices of bread or 200 calories) with ONLY one meal. This is a very balanced diet and eating every two hours will increase your metabolic rate drastically. I have to say this is very difficult to follow even after a year but if you stick to it, you will see AMAZING results. Diet is the base of the health pyramid. If you can successfully manage your diet you can start adding exercise to it. I lost 95 pounds in 16 months by doing all of the above.

You got big because you are eating too many calories.

Most people who exercise just eat more calories because they are hungry after then exercise.

Try tracking what you eat using a web site such as www.Livestrong.com. If you do it accurately you will learn what you are really eating calorie wise. It will help you pick a target, probably something like 1500 calories per day, and help you get a feel for how many calories are in what you are eating, and suggest other things that are as tasty but have less calories.

Low carb diets help some people. Eating fat doesn't make people fat. After all, what do they feed cows to fatten them up? Grains. Not fat.

You're not at a point where you need to look at pills.

You need to substantially cut fat and carbohydrate to lose weight, most likely.

Instead of a pill, I'd drink a few cups of green tea, it'll be more effective then other things. There are other strategies for dealing with metabolic slowdown, and yes some supplements and drugs can help, but I'd deal with that if and when it happens.

There is no magic to "weight loss" (in an unhealthy sense); you expend more energy than you consume, and you'll lose weight.

But, that is an unhealthy way of looking at it, because weight loss DOES NOT equal healthy. It doesn't matter how much you weigh, so much as what you are made of.

Weight loss pills don't work. They are a scam.

Cutting out fatty foods won't work unless you're eating *less* overall.

It's the calories that are important.

Even if you eat no fat, if you're eating something like 3000 calories a day, you're going to put on weight.
