One month - swollen throat???

Anonymous
Yeah, I can't find a whole lot on the internet so maybe y'all got some insight! FYI, first, I am waiting on a call from my doctor for an appt. But, until then! I've had swollen tonsils/glands for almost a month now, but no signs of infections! Ok, that alone could possibly be a sign, but my throat doesn't hurt! I can breathe, and I can swallow. It's just bothering me mostly in my neck area. I can feel something there is swollen. Almost feels like overnight a ton of fat was packed onto my neck and its more uncomfortable than anything! I've tried looking on WebMD, other websites, and I can't find any explanation for it! The closest thing I can find is Mono, but that would mean I'd have a fever and sore throat. I do have major problems with allergies, especially all year around living in Texas. But, I've been taking my Zyrtek and it's not helping the swelling. I recently went to the ER for a swollen face due to an allergic reaction, and the Doc noticed my swollen tonsils, but I didn't say anything. I'm more afraid of having them removed. I'm scared to death of surgery of any kind (I won't even get my wisdom teeth removed). But, it's getting to where the swelling isn't allowing me to sleep well because it's so uncomfortable. Like I said, I can breathe and swallow, but I can literally FEEL the swelling in my neck under my chin and surrounding areas where the glands are (or lymph nodes...whatever their called). Anyone got any ideas at all?!?
